Glad to hear you are growing courgettes, my mum planted some a while ago and they have come up a treat. and all I do is water them.
I did lots and lots of washing and dried in the glorious heat. I tried to get a tan on my legs, then it got too hot and I had to come in! I am an Asian with really pale legs lol!!!!
I have a few fleabay sales tomorrow which is good for my huge credit card bill of holiday spending over the last month. I hope the good weather lasts and you have a lovely weekend.
Thanks Savingwannabe! It's looking positive, I'm just trying not to get ahead of myself!
I potted 4 courgette seeds, only one (so far) has germinated and it's quite large so that's the one I've transferred to my veg patch. The other ones have not germinated yet so I'll give these a week or so and if nothing happens, maybe just sow one more & cross my fingers!
I know! I was in the garden yesterday and in the evening I had a pounding headache - I think it was the heat?!
I wanted to spend this morning in the garden but it's just too hot!
The OH went home yesterday evening (he didn't really have much with him, so to get supplies e.t.c) but his sister went round and they were catching up so I told him to not worry and just pop back today if he wants to, so just chilling watching Sunday DIY TV & Swagbucking!Perfect!

It is so hot outside i came in too!
Sorry about the headache it maybe caused by dehydration due to heat. I have them often. Please keep drinking lots of water i will force myself to as well- says Miss Diet Coke!:rotfl:Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Morning all!
The OH came round last night for dinner. I've signed up for the NHS smoke-free daily e-mails and when I receive these, I forward these to him every day with my own separate message of encouragement.
Yesterday's message was "well done on being smoke-free for 5 days" - basically a reward day. I'm relying on him not to tell me any porkies & he said he hadn't had a smoke & I believe him.
I popped to Sainsbury's on my lunch break and brought a sirloin steak and salad (on sale) & I used a discount voucher too, so fairly pleased with myself, he loved his dinner too!
Had a call this morning from a recruiter I'm registered with. She found me a very suitable role based near my parents. Same wage as I'm on currently, but with a discretionary 7% annual bonus. It also helps that the firm is large & very well known.
She's submitting my details today, so now it's another waiting game..
Nearly reached my SB points for another £5 Amazon voucher - Once I get this, it's £55.00 in the Christmas fund! Every little helps!
I'm going out on Saturday for drinks with my friends I haven't seen for a while - I'm quite excited. One is an ex-colleague & another is a friend who has recently become a mummy for the second time & this is her first night out since bubba's been born!
Luckily for me, the OH has agreed to drop me into town & pick me up in the evening/early morning, so I'm saving a tonne on taxi fare. I have a £20.00 cash budget & if I go over, it won't be by much and I'll pop it on the CC and once I get my Ebay funds from my sales, I can cover these.

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!
How is everyone doing?! I don't know about you, but I'm so, so glad it's Friday :T
I've decided that I'm going to continue privately renting (slight groan...!) until I can afford to buy my own home/flat. I've looked into SO & studios, basically really 'going for anything' to get on the ladder.
After much helpful advice from the people on this forum, I've decided to stick out the renting.
I've had a bit of joy on the job front..
- I was put forward for one job with the same salary as me, but has the benefit of company pension & annual bonus of 10%.
- I applied & was put forward for another job for £32k, only 20 mins drive away.
- I have a FaceTime interview with a recruiter on Monday to be out forward for another job I applied for, again about 20-30 minutes away, for £32k... So fingers crossed!
Bit of bad news, OH's car was hit today (when he was in work and it was parked!) and the driver drove off. It's dented the back & the suspension is damaged. OH called his insurance and if he claims, he will lose 2 years no claims (he only has 3) but if he doesn't, it was cost him a good few grand to fix... and as he's trying to clear £7k debt from elsewhere, it makes more financial sense to pay the £100.00 excess and lose the 2 years no claims. So mad though! He has a second hand merc (which is really nice - he's a salesman, so annoyingly, what he drives is important to an extent) and it's his one 'treat', so he's really upset!
I'm more like...
Thanks Savingwannabe, I brought 'The Millionaire Next Door' on Amazon (as I don't have a kindle). Only £2.98 used, so waiting for this to be delivered. I've told the OH he has to read it after me!
Made £23.00 Ebay sales, but waiting for one more item to be paid for so I can dispatch, so once this has been done, I'll leave the money in my account until it hits £50.00, then I'll transfer it into my deposit fund.
Night in tonight, literally waiting for the OH to arrive :j
Sunday we are going to Eastbourne to watch the (free!) airshow, weather permitting!

I feel v sorry for your OH. Poor thing. I hope someone can find out who damaged his car via CCTV.
I think this book really changed my perceptions of wealth accumulation and the behaviour of the wealthy. It really inspired me to save a lot of money several years ago.
Good luck with the job. Well done in coming to a decision on the house front. Keep saving missus and soon you will have a huge deposit.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
There's been lots of cars hit where I park for work too, my colleague's car was keyed last week, makes me really cross as we used to have company parking and when they moved premises we lost all parking and have to leave our cars on a dodgy road! Hopefully his no claims will build back up again, so unfair that he's now penalised for somebody else doing something bad!!
Definitely going to check out the millionaire next door... Did you get to the air show? Thought of you today, my basil and fennel have gone nuts with the recent rainfall! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Morning!
How bad is that?! OH is worried about driving his car until it's fixed, which is god knows when. I need to remind him to speak to his insurance today.. I think he'd leave without his head if it wasn't screwed on, bless him!
I didn't see the show! When was that? Hahaha Sauceclock, my beetroot and the new lettuce I've planted has gone mad too!
Nervous about today, spent the whole weekend with the OH feeling really, really ill. Whilst he was watching movies on the sofa, I was sitting with a hot water bottle/painkillers and deepheat lol.
Today I have a busy day, not looking forward to it!
I have a Facetime interview at 11:00 with a recruiter about a job I applied for, so going to take a very early lunch.
Hearing back (hopefully!) about two jobs recruiters put me forward for..
Lots to do (generally), at work too. I now have to work at one of our sites once a week instead of at the office, so i'm basically losing a day's (normal) work, so when I go back, I'm playing catch up.
I'll update tonight, hopefully I'll hear back from the recruiters!

Hi everyone!
It's been such a STRESSFUL day!
One recruiter didn't even call at our appointment time (this is the third time she has done this), so I sent an e-mail to the complaints team of that recruiter and said that this is the third time she hasn't called me when she confirmed in writing that she would and yet another position has potentially gone. NOT happy!
I got another call out of the blue, but the job spec. was effectively moving backwards for the same money that I'm currently on, so I politely declined.
I had a call from the second recruiter saying the company I applied for a job for wanted a phone interview, but she asked me an odd question (would I be put off by the premises?), so when I checked it out on Googlemaps, turns out it's a bus station... I said no thank you.
So back to square one, I applied for a job tonight paying £36k  which is local to me... let's see if I'm enough shall we..
Job hunting is so stressful... especially when you think your employer may have an inkling you're looking to move on..!!

It has been lovely sunshine wise though.
Keep doing what you are doing and I am sure something great will happen.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
