Makes absolutely no sense at all.
I could understand if she was visiting a salon and paying £30-£40 per haircut! But she's already paying a minimal amount for this.
For a start it was just a suggestion, you know, trying to be helpful, not an instruction.
Secondly, maybe try reading a post properly before jumping down someone's throat - IF she is making a trip to the shops/ town anyway and the possibility of her other half getting it for free.
What exactly are you contributing to this thread apart from being rude and making people less inclined to offer advice (and this is a public forum so it will all differ and some will seem less useful than others)?

The point being that I tried to trade down on these items and then reinstated them, however you don't even want to try.
Sorry I'm just being honest, good luck anyway.DFD September 2017

I think you're doing really well. We all have areas which are priorities to us, be it cigarettes, a nice mobile, occasional evenings out with friends or even just the odd 'treat' food or drink. Only you can decide which area (or two) is an absolute priority for you. If you decide that sparkling windows are worth paying a little bit less off your debts, then that is your choice.
I'm trying to build up my savings and make my house as clutter -free as possible, but I still spend some time playing online games, rather than using that time to do additional surveys, work from home, or clear out cupboards. That is my choice.
I would only say that when choosing financial priorities, you (and everyone trying to pay debts or save money,) should take care to consider the implications of all possible choices before making a decision.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.

Hi,
I have not read all of the replies so apologies if this has already been mentioned. Definitely get in touch with Step Change, they will arrange a call to go through everything, takes about an hour & then they send you a pack everything you have discussed on. Once I had my information, I contacted every loan & credit card company myself & put them in the picture. Every one of them, froze the interest straight away & set up a plan that I pay £5 or £10 a month to. As long as you keep them informed, most companies will help you. I preferred to deal with them direct because it can take longer if it is done through Step Change. If you have secured loans, they need to be priority . Good luck.0 -
Just signed up for the Winter Fuel Discount with Energy Provider. Received an email inviting me to do so. Hopefully I will get it again this year as it made a huge difference to the electricity bill:)0

Keep chipping away. It will become second nature.

Contacted HMRC today to sign up for the marriage allowance. I have transferred the maximum allowed from my tax code to oh's. It means that he will pay less tax this year. Which means more money coming in when he is working again.0
