afternoon all, busy morning so far, have tidied house from top to bottom, taken DD to doctors with ear infection, done online food shop, washed a load of towels just having a bit of rest and surf now.

We picked two bags full of apples off the tree in the garden, to give to friend tomorrow, have already given my mum two bags, and one to the old chap up the road, my freezer is also full of stewed apple, (get quite sick of it to be honest  )

Has anyone on here got children like mine addicted to MSM ? I have got loco parentis thing on mine, which lets me know what she is up too, but I am thinking of restricting the time she spends on it, any suggestions ?

    Congrats to charlies mum :j

HUGS to all who need one

    Afternoon all
    Welcome never to late

Just been to the post office & is it any wonder so many are closing, I got moaned at because I had too many parcels, (6), moaned at as I wanted to sent 3 letters recorded delivery (3) moaned at because I wanted too many thing in one visit, I wanted 2 postal orders & 6 first class stamps as well. I made sure I chose a qiuet time of day, I was not impressed with the service, I have to admit they are always like that in there. I shell be glad to get back to work & sent my stuff out through out post lady, she's always cheerfull & nothing is too much trouble.

donny-gal, he is very good as a handyman, but no one will employ him because of the health & safety implications., and he can't do the work self employed as he can't get insurance. His sight is deteriorating gradually, but they seem to move the goal posts every time we apply for extra help.

Elona, Thanks we hadn't thought of trying our MP, I'll give it a go.

He went on a Part P electrical course which cost us £1000 but then wasn't allowed to qualify as the examiner in our area, said he couldn't pass anyone without a full driving license.
He tried to qualify in another area, but the house he rewired was condemned, nothing to do with the electrics, there were orher problems with the property.
    Hugs Hester

  • Hi all

I'm just back from hospital after taking part in a research study - I was there four and a half hours plus two hours' travel . I had to have a thingy in a vein in my arm the whole time so that they could take six lots of blood over three hours, but it was so painful inbetween that I think I would rather have had six needles. The doctor and nurse were so lovely - if they hadn't have been I think I would have done a runner. After it was all over I got given lunch and 20p per mile petrol money so it was quite MSE really!

I've agreed to go back three more times over the next year  ...

    Hi Odds
He's been a roofer, builder, taxi driver, electrician, chippys mate, he started an electrical apprenticship at 15 when he left school, but the company he was working for went bust, his next job was looking after the mechanical hare at a dog track, lol. He's been roofing for the last few weeks with one of his brothers, they tie themselves together so hubby doesn't fall over the edge.

    Late posting from me today:D

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday elona!!!! Hope it's been a good one.

Hardup Hester, no suggestions I afraid, but have a (((((hug))))), poor DH has had bad luck hasn't he? (until he met you of course;) )

Had DGSs this morning, they've just gone home. Great fun, but boy am I knackered!!

charlies_mum, many congrats on your new granddaughter! Grandchildren are the best, all the fun without the broken nights and tears:D (Well except when you have them stay over:rotfl: )

Not been very OS this last couple of days, need to climb back on board. That bedrock of OS, meal planning just never works for me (Was encouraged to read it doesn't work for you in the holidays Pink:D ) I never know how many will be eating until the day, and then because of shift-work etc they sometimes need feeding at different times, and it all becomes too difficult. Add into the mix I don't know what I'll fancy tomorrow, let alone next week and it's just hopeless:o Today, for example, I've taken out a frozen chili (4 good portions) DS4 has just rung, he's eating with GF:rolleyes: That portion can't be refrozen, so it'll either be absorbed into the other portions or be binned.
Even if I kept it in the fridge it'd want eating tomorrow, which would throw me out for that day's food.

Oh well, I've rambled enough:o Hope Pen-Pen's DD is feeling better/ got some decent medicine:D I tried to look at the meteor shower, but like shez, couldn't see a thing, too much light in London. Shame really because it was a clear night and the stars were quite visible. Haven't managed to see the space station either, but I'm not at all sure I'm looking in the right place for that:rotfl:

Enjoy the rest of the day,

    CMxx

    :rotfl: Very unproductive day!

A good friend asked if I would look after her 3 children as she had a hospital app at 10 am.

It was no prob as her 3 play nicely with my 2.

However, she was held up at the hospital and didn't get back until 4 !!!!

Her youngerst is only 3 months old so I couldn't gat on at all.

She's a good friend and would have done it for me , but I feel quite cheesed off that I have lost a whole day ~ never mind , I 'll get my reward in heaven , if only I wasn't an atheist!!!!:rotfl:
