babe is off for her physical 9 month check up today. Doubt we'll have a problem. We're nearly there on the house front. My deposit goes to the solicitor's today adn with a bit of luck we'll complete on Friday. Won't be until the following friday until we can move in due to carpets. But we are one step closer
Bit day for babe tomorrow. She's going to have her eyes checked at the hospital. I know something isn't quite right and so I'm a bit nervous about what might happen. Much better to know how things are than to just guess though.
Hugs to those that need them and a big hello to all.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Morning :hello:
Happy birthday elona :bdaycake:
Congratulations charliesmum!
I'm off work today - as you can see from the fact that I'm able to log on to MSE  - because I'm going to a lunchtime concert today, and as I had a very busy weekend (including going to the Proms yesterday and standing through six hours of Wagner) I decided I would like a day of R&R! However I couldn't resist fitting in a few productive activities into my supposedly relaxing dayso am doing a mystery shopping job this morning, and having my hair cut this afternoon! I'm going to a hairdresser I've had highly recommended on a local forum, it isn't going to be cheap but I don't care (the reason I can afford not to care is that I put a bit aside each month for haircuts, and haven't had my hair cut for TEN MONTHS  )
Best be off and have a shower.

Hi Odds
We did enquire about courses & he was offered bicycle repair! He gets the minimum mobility benefit about £17 a week I think, we tend to save it up for emergencies. Some of the courses he isn't eligible for beacause of his age, he's 50, he's my toy boy, lol. Because he was self employed when he had his accident, he's not eligible for some benefits. He received a payout after the accident, but it all went to his wife, she divorced him once she realised he wasn't going to be able to provide for her & the kids, she got the house & the payout, he got a TV. He was suffering from depression & didn't fight the divorce.

   Just been to the local car park where we have bottle, cardboard and drinks carton recycling. Obviously due to the local flooding there are a few more plastic bottles around than normal. The bins for the plastic bottles were emptied on Friday - and all weekend people have been dumping their binbags of bottles in a heap by the bins, not using them!   And they've done the same with the cardboard.... The cardboard bin was being replaced when I was there - a woman came up and put her cardboard on the heap - and deservedly got told off by the driver who said "Put it in that EMPTY bin over there". THEN she went and dumped her plastic bottles, by the empty bins. She darn well heard me tell the other guy all about it!
AND someone's only dumped a TV, and a microwave there too!
What is it with people - they like living like we're in the third world or something? Antisocial s*ds.............
And why can't people SQUASH their bottles and cardboard before they put them in the bins???? They need all the space for themselves or something?
:j on a plus point - welcome Charliesmums DGD :j
Now repeat after me - SQUASH SQUASH SQUASH.....0 -
((((Hester)))
Have you thought of seeing your mp for help - perhaps that would gee them up and he could be offered something suitable.
DDs have made me posh coffee and have cards and flowers from them on the table.
They have offered to trim and colour my hair for me as a present so that will help me look less scruffy. I had a go at my legs with an epilator yesterday and used some "Holiday" lotion on them as well so look like I've been tangoed!
Just about to go and get dressed as have had a lazy morning.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Back in the land of the rain!! Thought I would see the meteor shower as we came back around 12.30 - 1am from the airport, but though lots of stars, none moved for me!:rotfl: :rotfl: Too tired to stay up later.
Birthday wishes Elona, and N9eav's dd, and congratulations Charlies_Mum. (((hugs))) to those not too good and Pen-Pen's DD. rchddap1 good luck with the eye test. Pen-pin hope you are soon feeling a bit better. Welcome newbies. alibob30 - Don't fret only a few are organised (I'm not).
Off to the shops in a moment as the fridge is empty, Lidl, Aldi and maybe a quick dash in Boots while I'm out. Getting withdrawal symptoms.
Hi Hester, it sounds a bit rough to me too. Has he had a check up recently to see if his sight has deteriorated, it may increase his benefits. On the warehouse front, which stupid (**^&* sent someone who cannot see correctly to a warehouse, that is lunacy. You always have to double check as you either get things out or put away. It will have to be a job with his hands though as I would imagine starring at a screen even a big print one would be very tiring. House cleaner/Gardener/Handyman??:o
Can I have a rant now. Our neighbours in Spain who just bought the house and moved in this time last year, have been back to the UK, and managed to get a sheltered accommodation flat in Richmond assigned to them. They are not disabled, or even old (she is 60)! They are still living in Spain, but they say they are bored (they never do anything but just sit outside in the sun and read the paper). I am sure there are lots of folk out there who need sheltered accommodation, so how on earth did they swing it.  The only thing I can think of is that they are not married, and she has claimed she is homeless!

Donny-Gal - Thats awful - I wonder how some people get away with things like that - I suppose you never really know a persons circumstances but it certinally looks like she's pulled a fast one
I'm sick of playing the hokey cokey with the washing trying to dodge the showers so it's all in on the airer now (apart from the towles in the TD) Typically the suns out again now!
Just made a huge fruit salad for pudding tonight - I'm not a great fruit eater - love veg - fruit's just too sweet - but I can manage a few helpings of fruit salad.
Had my Mr T vouchers through today - just ordered some deals and food tokens to use when we go away in 2 weeks, we've booked 4 nights on the travellodge offer so rooms costing us £60 for 4 nights, got 3 days out planned with the vouchers and enough vouchers to feed us evening meals (be it bella italia or harry ramsdans) - going to take cereal/milk/bowls to have brekkie in the room and will pack up the cool bag with sausage rolls and nibbly bits and bobs to tide us over until tea time.....should be a cheap 5 days away :T
DH wants to start making some paper bricks at the weekend so I've been shredding all the paper that's been sitting in the recycling pile, I'm all for free fuel.
Going to go make a start on the ironing - been trying to do a bit every other day to keep it down, come september I'll be doing loads more as 2 friends have just asked if I'd do their ironing for them - we've worked out a decent rate and I should be £40 per week better off :j Will use some of that to start going to ladies morning at the local sports centre once a week."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W.
