    Morning all.

boy what a night i had.

kids were shattered and were both sound asleep by 7. but by half 12 they were awake. not being naughty but playing really loudly and laughing.anyway kept going in to their room and settling them down. they finally went alseep by about 4. however i woke up at 7 this morning to find my litttle girl in bed with us. cheeky tyke.

The roast beef i cooked last night was lush. kids eat loads of beef , pots annd yorkies. there usually not too keen on beef. but i'm so chuffed. my little girl was abit put out tho when she bit into a parsnip. bless her.

postie has already been. bought some b&q gift vouchers which was a nice surprise.

i've got washing on the line, dw needs to be emptied. but for now just enjoying a nice cuppa.

    breakkie ~ toast
Lunch ~ noodles followed by fruit
Dinner ~ jacket spud , ham and cheese.

enjoy ur day everyone , looks like it might rain soon, but hope not just yet as have to get some bedding on line.

((((Hugs ))))) to those who need them.

    morning all.
    congratulations charliesmum!!
busy day today, am decorating the nursery today, need to empty it as it's currently an office, then wash and paint the woodwork and lift the old carpet.
need to go to b and q first to buy materials. DH is on baby sitting duties whilst i do that. he hates decorating, he gets really bored and then rushes and makes a mess of everything!
we're wallpapering tomorrow and the new carpet is coming wednesday.
need to go shopping as well or we'll all starve, might do an online shop.

    Thanks for all the congratulations

I got so excited about new dgd, forgot to say that on Friday night there was a loug bang, and when dh went outside, there was a kestrel lying on its back on the patio. DH picked it up and stood it up, the kestrel shook itself, and then few off. There is a mark on our bedroom window, where the bird hit it, we're amazed the kestrel was alright.

Saw it again yesterday, chasing the birds in the garden, so it must be living somewhere close by.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • Morning everyone.
Congratulations to Charlies Mum-- you lucky thing!
Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating their special day.
And hugs to everyone being brave or sad.

Had a lovely day yesterday tidying drawers. Have to be in the mood to throw out-- but when I am --- WOW ---- and never miss a thing.

Few plans in the kitchen which need some organisation.

Understairs cupboard beckoning next. I will get it done. and then have too much to put back in there!!!
Does anyone else start pruning and then it looks so bad you end up taking the plant out. I am at that stage with my herb bed. I did originally put the mint in a container but it has escaped and now overtaken everything.

    Have a good day everyone
  • That must be SO disheartening, hester! Is there courses he could take to get better job prospects?? If he looked into IT, he could set the screen to large print so could see much more easily. The Open university often offers grants to pay tuition for those who can't afford them. Doesn't he get benefits as he's visually disabled??

    Morning Everyone:D

I didnt see the meteor shower, apparently it would have been too difficult in London with all the Lights etc, shame though.

Just been tidying up DS1 room, washed floor etc - now time for a cuppa and toast. Few jobs doing round the house and then not sure whats in
store for rest of the day.

Good News: Just heard from MIL she's won £5k on the thunderball:T

PPincher - heard the fireworks last nite and wondered what it was for - obviously that concert!

Newbie here, decided to join in after reading your post for the first time last night.

Terrible nights sleep last night, i'm almost 35 weeks pregnant so its to be expected I suppose, I managed to sleep in the end but was woken by DD (2.5) at 5.30 this morning!

My dishwasher has broken down so have spent half an hour getting the water out, hopefully we'll have a man out today to fix it, hope that its not too pricey though. Have done some tidying but have a rest and some sneaky chocolate while DD is in bed catching up with her sleep. We're off to a Mother and toddler group this afternoon but thats all the plans we have.

Food wise i'm not very organised like the rest of you, lunch probably pasta for Izzy and I, dinner a mixture for Isobel (her name for sandwiches and salad) and chilli for me and DH

Happy birthday to everyone celebrating and congratulations on the new baby to charlies mum!

    Morning all,

    Tilly and alibob, Welcome. :hello:
Penny-Pincher, I hope all goes well at the hospital today.
Charlies_mum, Congratulations on your new granddaughter.
Happy Birthday Elona and Miss N9eav :bdaycake:

We had a lazy day yesterday. The sun was sort of shining and I had lots to do in the garden, so I didn’t get a chance to post on the daily. Ds2 (13) is home from scout camp in Scotland…it was great to see him home safe and sound as I always worry about him when he’s away as he’s a dare-devil type. The best bit was the massive hug I got when he got off the coach…he’s beginning to grow up and is no longer embarrassed to give his mum a big hug in front of his friends.

To celebrate his homecoming I cooked his favourite meal yesterday…..duck breasts with a blackberry and red wine sauce....it’s meant to be cherry but I needed to [STRIKE]get rid of [/STRIKE] use up some of last years blackberry jam, with my own freshly dug potatoes, sugar snap peas (also from the garden), asparagus, leeks and purple sprouting broccoli.

Today dh and dd are working, and I’ve promised to take the boys swimming.

Not sure what I’ll make for tea….I need to have a look at the meal plan to see what was originally planned and see how many are in and whether or not we fancy it. Meal planning doesn’t really work for me in the summer holidays as I never know how many (or how few) will be home in the evening and the weather is so changeable here. If there’s a hearty stew on the meal plan it’s guaranteed to be gorgeous barbeque weather….if I’ve planned a light salad it’s almost certain to be freezing cold and tipping it down!

    Have a good week everyone,

    Pink
