Men can be just as bad ime!
It depends on the person and their work ethic. I don’t find any particular gender easier to work with than the other. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
I love a good fat joke, i used to rip into the tubbies at work all of the time.
They were men though, i'd be less inclined to call a girl fat
Anyway giggidy, post a pic up and we'll be the judge :money:0 -
This hits the nail on the head, she is very clever in the little digs she makes, sometimes so subtle that others dont notice it so when you do react and lash out, it then seems like you the one out of order. Its not just digs about my weight, she tries to undermine me in any way she can, constant snide remarks but hidden behind a veneer of camaraderie.
I think because she is attractive she thinks that gives her license to be mean and maybe thats why people let her get away with it, if she looked like Quasimodo nobody would put up with it :rotfl:
Today I was having my lunch in the canteen, a big fat McD's deli sandwich as it goes, and I felt her hovering at my table eyeballing my sandwich. I gave her my deadliest stare and said "what?"...she then slithered off saying "oh nothing" wih a smirk on her face. Ooh I could crush a grape!
I dont want to resort to being as horrible as her and slag her off to get back at her but I wont remain silent either. Im going to make jokes at her expense instead. Obviously the mum thing touched a nerve so I will keep poking her with that one.
"eat a salad luv"......'yeah thanks for the advice luv, by the way, your mum called, she'd like her shirt back'
"Your filing is so untidy"....'remember when I asked for your opinion? No, me neither....but thanks mum'.
And so on, or failing that "you know whats funny? Not you, so shut your cake hole"
Youse are as bad as each other. Would you have the same perception of her if she was the same size as you?0 -

You appear to be the epitome of charm..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Actually, "Real men" like all different types of shapes. Thin shaming is just as bad as fat shaming, don't do it.
Totally agree with this. Making someone feel bad about how they look is just wrong.
I've been on the receiving end of constant jibes, comments and put downs about how thin I was and it made my teenage years/early 20's miserable a lot of the time and made me feel so self conscious. A person who wasn't as strong as I was might have succumbed to an eating disorder what a lot of people made out I had anyhow. I didn't, and I wasn't underweight either, just naturally very slim.
Now' I'm a size 12 and I wouldn't consider that to be big at all.0 -

I think these kind of comments are a terrible idea. She is clever and people often don't notice how nasty she is being; your comments would be out there and obvious. You will be the one who ends up with the bad reputation.
Don't be nasty back - keep calm but call her out every time a comment upsets you.0 -

I dont quite get your point, Ive said numerous times I dont want to resort to being as horrible as her by being personal but I dont think ignoring her or staying quiet will help. I dont judge her at all on her outward appearance so Im not sure why Im a bad as her??
Perhaps you read it as me saying "eat a salad luv... or your filing is so untidy " I would never say this to anyone, this is actually what she said to me. I just meant I would respond to her comments with jokes ie your mum wants her shirt back0 -

So don't be horrible back to her. What you need is a stock reply which will fit any !!!!!y remark she comes out with. Something along the lines of (hurt voice) Did you mean that to be as !!!!!y/nasty as it sounded?GobbledyGook wrote: »"Ouch, did you mean to be quite so rude/offensive? Are you ok?"
Makes the point, makes very plain you are not going on attack (so can't be turned on you) and gives a very good base for in future saying "You know I don't like those kind of comments."
These posters have given useful advice which will draw attention to her comments without you needing to be nasty back to her.
