'F... off you snidey harridan. If you want a fight about it punch me here and now and we'll finish this with all these witnesses, otherwise shut up, f... off, and keep your vile comments to yourself'
...
'Oh I was 'only joking' too'.
Doing this in front of witnesses will stop it dead - it's up to her to double down (hit you and get fired) or just have to swallow her petty power games knowing you're not standing for them in front of her gang.
What the OP appears to be dealing with here is someone who's socially clever (read: bit of a manipulative jekyll & hyde)
If the OP were to challenge her the way you describe, the other woman would cleverly turn it round and make the OP look as though she were the one being aggressive.
We're talking about grown women, here, not schoolkids, and they've got a few years more experience at getting the upper hand by being b*tchy little bullies. OP could tell tales on her to HR, but should be prepared for vindictiveness if she does.0 -

Men can be just as bad ime!
We had some gay men on our team, - they were so-oo b*tchy, but they were quite funny
I'm not sure if I can even repeat some of the things they came out with, on here.
One thing that stuck in my mind was when one of them saw a [STRIKE]fat [/STRIKE]large lady in a wheelchair-scooter thing go past, and on it was a sign that said "I might be fat but you're ugly and I can go on a diet"
One particularly b*tchy queen retorted "Yeah, but you're fat AND ugly"

Women stab you in the front, men stab you in the back. What to do? Keep the stabbers at arms length and ignore them..................

Some people really do need it spelt out to them, especially in a work environment where "banter" is the norm.
Unfortunately for the one on the receiving end of such 'banter'!!
They all find it funny and protest that they only 'banter' with you because "you can take it"!
Often a case of having no choice but to put up with it and not react, or in the long run, face far worse consequences!0 -
Oh GAWD... Hasn't everyone worked with some like this?! Someone who makes you life a living hell at work!
I would calmly take her aside and ask her to stop the snide remarks about your weight as it's upsetting you. And as someone said earlier, make a record of everything she says and when she says it.
Don't threaten to report her - don't say anything. Just DO it. If she carries on harassing and insulting you AFTER you have asked her to stop, then that is bullying. And it is out of order, and not acceptable in the workplace. I don't care how 'good looking' she is or how popular, she needs taking down a peg or two!
One of these days, she will cross someone who will smash her face in! She won't be so 'good looking' then.
Makes you wonder what has happened in the lives of people like this to make them such nasty b--ches.cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -
I'd just tell her straight "you're being rude and offensive".
If you don't have the courage to say it straight next time she says anything act upset, cry and run off saying "I can't believe you're so mean to someone on steroids".0 -
OP your work mate sounds like what Bridget Jones calls 'a jellyfish'With love, POSR

This hits the nail on the head, she is very clever in the little digs she makes, sometimes so subtle that others dont notice it so when you do react and lash out, it then seems like you the one out of order. Its not just digs about my weight, she tries to undermine me in any way she can, constant snide remarks but hidden behind a veneer of camaraderie.
I think because she is attractive she thinks that gives her license to be mean and maybe thats why people let her get away with it, if she looked like Quasimodo nobody would put up with it :rotfl:
Today I was having my lunch in the canteen, a big fat McD's deli sandwich as it goes, and I felt her hovering at my table eyeballing my sandwich. I gave her my deadliest stare and said "what?"...she then slithered off saying "oh nothing" wih a smirk on her face. Ooh I could crush a grape!
I dont want to resort to being as horrible as her and slag her off to get back at her but I wont remain silent either. Im going to make jokes at her expense instead. Obviously the mum thing touched a nerve so I will keep poking her with that one.
Her: "eat a salad luv"......
Me: "yeah thanks for the advice luv, by the way, your mum called, she'd like her shirt back'
Her: "Your filing is so untidy"....
Me: 'remember when I asked for your opinion? No, me neither....but thanks mum'
And so on, or failing that "you know whats funny? Not you, so shut your cake hole"0
