  • afternoon everyone.

I had a lovely lie in this morning till 8:30, and i didn't even have to ask DH, he just got up, so that was lovely.

We then divided up the tasks that needed doing today, and we are pretty much ready for in-law visit at any point imminent.
    • birthday pressies bought for my BIL and grandad
    • anniversary card and bunch of flowers got for ILs
    • small bit of food shopping
    • whipped cream for my victoria sandwich that i made yesterday, and asembled it, and put icing sugar on
    • all of downstairs hoovered
    • our bedding washed
    • a load of charlie's stuff washed
    • airers emptied of dry stuff so wet stuff could go on
    • cats fed
    • charlie fed/taken for a walk
    • recycling out
    • ompost put out
    • kitchen and bathroom bins emptied
    • TD emptied from yesterdays (bibs) and all folded and away

Downstairs is now tidy so lunch has been provided. Will be using the same system for upstairs and dinner - my room is the worst actually so after lunch I will set a good example.

Have cut fresh roses for the house to stop them getting battered by the storm. They have to all be cut down in a couple of weeks for the rotten window seals to be replaced.

Made the kids get their pensil cases ready for new school term as well.

  • Jill I have 9yrs,7 yrs, 4yrs,2yrs 13 months and 6 weeks.I agree with pigpen that after 2 the others tend to just fit in, the main thing I do regarding feeds is make sure everyone else is fed and watered and that everything we need is in 1 room. That way we shouldnt need to go anywhere/get anything. My oldest 2 are a great help too, not sure how old yours are ? but even my 2 year old can be persuaded to bring me what I need, nappies etc. 1 last thing I do is put the tv on , I know some people dont like it but it can give me 5 minutes peace for a feed. I am sure you will be fine, I was really worried before baby arrived but now shes here its been a lot easier than I expected.

    Hello Everyone

Well BT is up and running again (DH just rang to tell me) I am stuck at work!

We had an eventfull week. DDs spent Fri, Sat and Sun nights at MIL's, DD1 came home monday evening saying she had fallen off the slide on Sunday and hurt her wrist (well just above) but nanny had put a plaster on it. Tuesday morning she said it was still hurting, I went out to the shed to get some meat out of the freezer and she decides to follow me. It was raining so she put her wellies on and then slipped on the decking landing on the sore arm. Upshot is she now has a cast on her arm, luckily only for 3 weeks, its a soft cast so I remove it at home. Not sure if its pain but you can tell when the calpol is wearing off, her temper goes through the roof. 2 hour screaming fit, slamming doors etc. I tried to hold her in a timeout and she kept pushing me over - not nice and not made for fun days. The bits inbetween have been nice we are currently making paper mache pigs.

Flying has been kept to a minimum and just the dailies done so everywhere looks fine (but I know the sofas need hoovering under - lol!)

Will be back on board on Monday, I did semi clean my oven last night but the racks need soaking so that must get done this week.

Right off to read back over the thread to see what you lot have been upto.

Mumofmany; you are right. It gets easier the more kids you have. :D
Well sort of. As a mum you also become more relaxed and don't sweat the small stuff anymore. My fifth child is raised much more relaxed than the first one. The kids also learn that sometimes they just have to wait, or help out to make them get what they want faster. :D

Well, shopping run done, and now I'm pooped!
3 of my girls came along as well as one of the neighbour's kids. They were really well behaved I must say. But upon home coming I found DH and a friend pottering about with his model cars and he never thought to stop to help me unload or anything. Which ticks me off no end!

Little squirt is in a screaming mood at the moment though, and howles at everything that doesn't go the way she wants it. Don't you love the toddler puberty stage? The screaming is doing my head in! espcecially since DH has locked himself in the shed with friend and cars, and all I can see is 3 million things left to do! Then this screaming in the back ground produced by a tantrum throwing 3 year old, and a playful puppy dancing and barking around it... where can I hide????

Because I just KNOW that as soon as DH decides to get his !!!! in gear I'll be expected to jump to attention and help out with shifting furniture and laying the new floor! grrrrrrrrrrrr.. Maybe I will go and hide!

MEN!!! Who the &^%$!! invented them?

going to get me a cup of coffee and a pair of earplugs.

Shell pleased to hear it's fixed :D hope little DD is better soon bless her.
Michelle I'd be suspicious too :rotfl:
Mum of many, do not envy you with the littlest 3 being so close together, I can only imagine what needs doing.

Oh I'm going to have a moan. That shelving rack is still not done! He said for my birthday do I want to get the shelves I want for my birthday, well, I do want them but suggested wasn't an 'ideal' present. I also said I don't want to buy them then them sit there for a year! He promised to get some and put them up over 2 years ago!

Right, today, well I've been to sisters to collect some stuff, got a sort of list written down which I will work from, need to make lasagne for tea so will prepare that in a mo.
One day I might be more organised...........
