Just grabbing five minutes on here with a cup of tea!

Busy day again, getting ready for tomorrow's departure! Fortunately, the children have been really helpful. DD cut the grass for me, and they have all put their packing on their beds for me to check before they put it in a bag.

Bathroom and cloakroom cleaned - left over from yesterday. Children's rooms abandoned for two weeks, they'll still be there when I come home! Last minute shopping done, and all the paperwork ready to go. When I was checking it, I realised that I have a confirmation slip for one gite, which I have to hand to the owner, but not for the other gite, where we are going first - emailed the rental site, and am keeping fingers crossed that it either doen't matter, ( I do have a copy of the contract which clearly states that I have paid in full) or that they will email it today!! Or we'll be sleeping in the car...

Have a lovely, and happy two weeks everyone, and hope all those horrid germs vanish.

poohbear - very glad to see that today seems to be going better. I was so horrified a few years back to read of children committing suicide because they had worse results than they hoped for, that I promised myself that I wouldn't fuss about results - DS1 was very ill last year, and has struggled this year. He knows that I really couldn't care less about his results this year!! Just in case you think I'm maybe the sort of parent who wouldn't care anyway, I'm a secondary school teacher, and I do want my children to do the very best they can - in whatever field that may be. I hope you have a more relaxing few days, and I shall try and catch up on the news when I get back.

changed the kids' beds and put fresh linnen on.

    Cleaned toilet

went out to buy DD1 a new bike

Spent most of the afternoon looking for DD2 who ran away after being told to stop harrassing her big sister... (grrrrrrrrrrrrrr) She is 11, and just walked straight out the door! Just as we were getting ready to leave and all!
    *sigh*
I had to go as I had an appointment with the person who was selling the bike, so I stuck a note on the door saying she had to go see her dad at work. She didn't.

She turned up over 3 hours later though.. and then went in a huff because I shouted at her! tssss how dare I!

She's still up in her room sulking now, which is a good thing because I'm still fuming and all!

Oh well, see if I can sum up the energy to hoover the bedrooms upstairs..

Hoovered and dusted the childrens bedrooms.

Stuck little squirt in the bath. DD1 is an absolute shining star, she cleaned the kitchen for me as I was busy upstairs, and now she has made me a cup of coffee and is getting the youngest one dressed into her pj's for me.
(is she saying thanks for a new (expensive) bike? :T

DD2 is still sulking in her room. I just ignored her as I was in there cleaning.
    (yes I'm a b*&*h I know)

Folded up a huge pile of washing.

right, time for a cuppa now, and when DH returns from the DIY shop we'll get busy with the floor again.

pleased as i managed to change our bedding and pay the window cleaner. I still need to make a cake tonight and cook dinner so i suppose i had best start that soonish although DH said he might be a little late. Don't want to be doing it too late tonight.

Michelle hope your Dad gets himself sorted now, must be very painful for him, maybe do a little nagging!

not really - he can't feel it as he is paralysed from the chest down. That's why they got so bad cos they are on his feet and he can't see the bottom of them, so by the time mum noticed they were ulcerated. This has been going on for about a year, and yes he does need nagging. My sister was saying today they are on about breaking both his ankles, and setting the bones in a more normal standing position as they hang down, and this caused the initial problem. Sounds nasty to me, and as usual, not a lot i can really do but it doesn't stop you worrying.

oh - know what you mean about long waits in the chemist - i always drop the prescription in now and go back later, but it is never as quick as it used to be when i was a kid. I have known an hour wait.

Best get on and pop back in later.

Excelled myself tonight with a bit of creative cooking.. at 6pm I decided I didn't want chicken and salad.. so.. I did pasta.. mixed with 1lb mushrooms and a tin of chicken soup 1/4 pint of milk and heated up the chicken and we had a delicious dinner.. which by some miracle EVERYONE ate.. they were either starving or genuinely liked it.. noone even whinged which is nothing short of a miracle! I'm not usually this adventurous so I am quite pleased with myself.. I'm flinging fish in the SC for tomorrow.. for fish pie..

Oh blimey Michelle, had no idea, can understand why you are worried.

Well done on the meal idea pigpen, bet it wasn't too expensive to make either. Where did you get the idea? Pleasing 10 people must be hard, I struggle with 4!

Becca how nice of your DD, my kids normally are helpful before they get it but definately not afterwards.

Well I've decided it's time to part with my car, downside is finding a buyer, I'm set to loose over a grand on it which saddens me a lot, just because of how little they go for :( DP is on about breaking it for spares if needs be as you get more that way for them, it's the time/space/effort to do that which puts me off.

DP having quiet night again, on the phone a lot, getting worse down there, someone carrying a little one just been hit in the face as he was walking down the street, why he was walking down a street full of pubs with a little one in his arms another matter of course, pleased I don't go out.
One day I might be more organised...........
