Morning, I hope folks are feeling a bit better today? Hugs to those who need one and those despairing of being skint.
I love being on here and being able to moan about such things with folks in a similar position. Lovely people that you all are :A
I'm really motivated at the moment; I don't know what it is about taking a day off work but I seem to get more done than I would bother to do on a weekend.
Wrote myself a list in bed last night to stop it wizzing round my head -we like our lists on here don't we! It's when you have to make lists of your lists that you know things are getting serious. I've got 2 lists on the go at work and often put one up on the whiteboard so folks won't ask me every 5 mins what there is to do. They must think I'm some kind of control freak but we do run smoothly and efficiently..a-tten-SHUN!

Morning all :hello:
Miserable day here ATM but I'm happy - having another lazy day but still pottering around. There's no way I'm upto going out just yet as I'm lacking enough energy BUT I was feeling energised enough to get the scales out this morning as I want to go on a diet because I really need to get rid of this excess weight I've been carrying around since puberty. I had to get off them and back on 3 times before I would believe what they said - I've lost 9lbs in a week :j Okay, being sick and not able to eat is a major factor :rotfl: and I also know that some of that will go back on when I start eating properly again but it feels bl**dy good to see:rotfl::rotfl:
My plan for today is to keep on top of the dishes, do some laundry, rest on the computer, and keep DD entertained with another Harry Potter-athon by her request  I swear she will know all 4 films word for word by the time she goes back to school :rotfl:
Right, off to wipe the kitchen worktops down so I can make DD breakfast - OH managed to cover the majority of them in raw egg and didn't clean it up  Laters
Oh, and I still haven't found OH's cardI've given up - he'll have to phone the bank and ask them for a new one I think
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I've just had a phone call from our local pub about the waitressing job I enquired about on Sunday. She had said she would call me that night, so I had given up on the idea of working there as it is obviously Thursday now. Anyway, decided that I am going to work a trial shift on Saturday lunchtime (this will be a really busy shift I would imagine especially if the weather is good), and then if we like each other, she will see if she can fit me into the rota. I still don't know how much I'll be paid though. Does anyone know if you get paid for trial shifts? I've never done one before, and not sure how it all works.

Tried to post 2x last night but it wouldn't let me, even though other people's posts were added in that time.
Anyway - gist of it was i am waiting in for delivery of my wardrobe/bedroom organisers and storage solutions, and then i will be trying to have a sort out/organisation session in my room. Charlie started for me this morning by sweeping everything off my bedside table and tearing up some tissues. He's really keeping me on my toes again today, and DH keeps laughing at me when i tell him what he has been up to. Means i am really struggling to get anything done, but we are having a bit of a laugh.
Anyway, list here, and i'd best get on while he is sleeping as he won't be for much longer.

sexymouse when i have done trial shifts at proper businesses then i have been paid for it at the usual rate of pay for that business. The only time i didn't was in the student bar i worked at in the hall of residence where they gave everyone two trial shifts then picked the best workers. Meant they got nearly a term of free labour so a bit cheeky really.0 -
Quiet here this morning.
Updated my list and removed everything I've done.
Still not showered as decided to hoover and wash all floors downstairs as well as some other stuff. so will go do bathroom jobs and then shower as friend will be here in a little over an hour :eek:Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Doctors went sort of ok, the GP I seen told me off for not going back straight away when the antibiotics didn't work (that was weeks ago now) and put me on another type and took throat swabs, I was right, I still have tonsilitis.
Sexymouse, to be honest you should be paid for trial shifts, if you're working you should be in my opinion. However, I know of a place near me who has been 'looking' for staff for a while, so far just the people I know of they've had 6 people in unpaid working in the last few weeks all doing 'trials' seems a very naughty way of getting free labour to me.
Tracyg as usual you're more than welcome to follow your own, I'm sure you know regardless you'll be welcome to post
Got a lot to do today, didn't manage to get our sheets done yesterday so will do them today as the weather is a bit better.

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Thanks guys, I knew someone on here would know. Called the CAB too to check, and they said that legally they can ask me to work unpaid as there is no contract involved, but that they would recommend that I don't as if there was an accident, which there could be if I'm a waitress, then I probably wouldn't be covered by their insurance or something like that.
Forgot to say get better soon lil_me, and I hope the antibiotics kick in soon - I know how bad tonsillitis makes you feel having been a regular sufferer myself, and being allergic to penicillin and erythromycin, and another antibiotic I was given in the past! lolEnjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

Two loads of washing on the line, dry today (so far).
Vacuumed through downstairs and dusted living room.
Cleaned bathroom, don't know what level but cleaned toilet, sink, bath and washed floors.
Went over to shop and paid the papers, dog enjoyed the walk - she was full of it this morning! She forgets she's 12 until she's had a sleep and can barely walk after
Victoria sandwich in the oven then I'll be starting lunch.
And so far I haven't cried today
