Clydesdale , just copied it.This was the switch I was going to do, instead of Halifax, until I read, Main,so, did the Halifax.I may switch the Halifax to Clydesdale later on. How do they know it's your main A/c?
"Simply use the Current Account Switch Service to transfer your main bank account to us from another bank or building society. When you switch and maintain a minimum of 2 active Direct Debits and pay in at least £1000 per month, we’ll give you £150"
There is nothing in the Clydesdale switching offer terms that talks about a "main account".

I don't think they have their actual Current Account Switch Agreement (which exists regardless of the switching offer) online but I am certain it does not mention "main account".
The T&Cs govern the switch offer, nothing else does.0 -

to welcome you for switching to us
Simply use the Current Account Switch Service to transfer your main bank account. Switch and maintain at least 2 active Direct Debits and pay in at least £1,000 per month. Terms, conditions and exclusions apply.
Find out more didn't say T/cs
.I also said, it does not say you have to use it as your main account after switching. If they insist on switching your main account , I assume they expect you to use theirs as your main account.?How they know you are switching your main A/c I do not know?0 -
This is from their website.I never mentioned T/cs. They insist you have to switch" your" main account.http://www.cbonline.co.uk/personal/current-accounts/

It is the T&C that matter not some blurb on a random web page .
The term "Main" is not defined, so it could mean "my main account for my cash reserves.0 -
It does say in the t&c's that they can close your account and we all know now that's the part they are using.
We're purely speculating on reasons why now.0 -
This really is a non problem. If LBC where closing accounts there would be dozens of people on here telling the world, and since that hasn't happened it is a fare assumption that the three posters that have reported a problem have other issues.0

Bloody English language.
I quoted what Clydesdale are saying on their website to switch to their account, only because it is there, and no amount of bluster will make it disappear. Obviously, Clydesdale think it's important, to print it.but, the sages on here ,don't.Take your pick, interperate as you wish.
I personally couldn't care less about the T/cs, they are for the companys benefit, not the punters, which I will not become one.
.LBG don't say in their T/cs about spirit of usage.?
See the outcome of that.
Happy Banking.:).0 -

There is no written and unambiguous definition of 'main account'.
Please stop creating problems when there are none.
I certainly don't have one, and I'm not dyslexic, but,you seem to deny what's written, or, claim it's irrellevent, not part of T/cs, your mantra..Where do T/c's start and end.?
You are creating the problem, denying what's in front of your eyes.
It was you who jumped on Prince Yumil, who first made remark about " main A/c", not being there, not me
If it's unambiguous,
.Please define " main" oh wise one.I'm all agog, because I don't know what they mean by it..
Perhaps, best not, I will stick to the Banks Blurb., they pull the strings.0
