you have omitted to ask most of the questions regarding your equipment , so its hard to progress any further .

I have a recently bought BMW sitting on the drive, but that info is immaterial to the thread AND so is listing my 4 laptops and 2 towers .

We have already posted an easy alternative , place on stick.
Also your link shows an adapter, a device which has been discarded.

and in answer to your question "Is there a USB to HMDI cable in existence "

    Simple answer........... No??

You cannot get a straight-up USB to HDMI cable. You need an adapter, eg.
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/190689040609

Then you will need an HDMI cable (~£1).

By the time you're in that price range, then you might as well get a Chromecast which are often on sale for £20.

Post 2 already gave you the answer. No, there is no such thing like an USB to HDMI adaptor. These are different things. However, there might be external USB graphics cards, which might have a HDMI output. But these are not simple "adaptors".

    usb is not video
My question was about pictures, I never mentioned video.
No, there is no such thing like an USB to HDMI adaptor.
But as there is a micro usb to HDMI cable it not an unreasonable question?

you are still struggling with this arn,t you?

pictures are DISPLAYED the same as a video

you CANNOT use the 4 wires coming out of a USB plug to go directly to a HDMI plug/socket.

2 are DATA , (not video) and 2 are power

you can however buy a "box" or adaptor that will convert the "data" to HDMI , however its been stated several times they are expensive , made in china and often don,t work.

copy the pictures to the laptop with a hdmi socket and use that .

Really? Or are you just trolling now? Video means graphics when you talk about computers.

This is not a cable or adaptor as such. An adaptor is used to convert one form factor plug/socket to another. It doesn't change the signal.

The Amazon link from post 11 is not really an adaptor, even though they use the word adaptor. Note the bulky box at the end of that cable. In there is a graphics card.

Edit: You could as well ask, is there a kitchen tap to power socket adapter? Of course, you can produce electrical power from water, but you can't plugin your wires directly into the water pipes.
