BT are a disgrace. I've just rung them and cancelled my BT Sport. I can't believe that I need to recontract for 12 months just to keep the same service as what I currently have. Ludicrous!0

OK. Lots of very upset people. BT at best are acting disgracefully and at worst illegally. So the question is....

My advice would be not to cancel anything yet. We have until 31st July to make a decision and I strongly believe that BT will start backing down soon.
The post above saying that BT are tweeting that you do not have to re-contract to downgrade to BT Lite is evidence that this is happening already as I was clearly and repeatedly told by the BT advisor that I would have to re-contract.0 -

Has anybody contacted Watchdog? I know they're pretty useless, but perhaps some air time could help on this?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I've just contacted online customer service and was told I wouldn't be charged the £5 extra or the £1 increase for HD while I'm still in my 18 month contract. The email that went out was a blanket email sent to all customers. Hopefully that's correct but I don't overly trust BT customer services!0

I guess thats made up my mind then. I am currently looking at upgrading to fibre. I phoned BT last week to see if i could get a decent deal. I got the hard sell about having 3 sports channels free if i took infinity with them (other option i am looking at is sky). Dont like being directly lied to. Looks like BT can **ck off. I wont be renewing with them.0

I cannot see how on earth their small print can over ride this. I am of the opinion that this mis-selling, and I will follow this up. There are much cheaper broadband suppliers that I could have signed up with, but the sport was an influencing factor.
And you still can. The email you have recieved states you have the right to cancel. (30 day notice period)0 -

Yes, see my post above.0 -

I might try that. Which number did you call?0 -
