ok, let you off with that one:rotfl::D, just you said before that updating your signature was a bit of a hit and miss.

Hmm sometimes I don't know where my head is, oh and the florist shop next to the PO I use, have the yankee advent calenders reduced as "only a couple left" Temptation, but i'm

Lovely day here, warm and sunny:)

  • HI AFK - I've done the same by mistake with standing orders ... where I need a direct debit for an account I've often set up a small payment for charity, and sometimes they randomly come up as a so rather than a dd. Also, not sure if I've misunderstood your post but as far as I know (and I may obviously be wrong ;)) you don't need to switch over the dd's to get the incentives - just switch over whatever is there and then make sure there are the requisite number of dd's set up to the new account.

I've got to the stage with current accounts that the only way I can juggle / shuffle / get the right dd's in the right place is to draw a picture .... also helps work out the loophole bounce around payments (which are standing orders) between them each month :)

  • Thanks Holly:A, when i first read the T&C I took it, they meant they had to be in place in my account that i was switching, seems not, you apply for the account, then you have up to 30 days to actually switch over, so got a bit of breathing space:dance:. I normally go into this in great detail and read things that are not even there:o:rotfl:Some say they just have to be active even if they don't take anything off some months. eg p@yp@l.

The other account, if I manage the 1st one (I know, call me a switching tart:rotfl:) does state that you need to "pay out" at least 2 different direct debits, so slightly different to the 1st one.

I thought of drawing a circle(ish) diagram just like your chart to help me get to grips with the ££'s going round in circles, i think i worry too much, like - if ££ goes into No.1 account then leaves No.1 account - same day, what happens if they take out before being put in ?? or do i just leave it and make the switch the day after it went in ?? and does it go awol, like my o/p's to mortgage, taken out my account on a Friday:(, goes missing:eek:, then ends up in mortgage account on the Tuesday

I'll get the hang of this yet:D

  • On the current accounts, I've always managed with the requisite number of dd's being set up on the new account, i.e. not related to the switching. And yes my picture is an A4-shaped circle-ish.

Don't want to get in the way of your Strong Resistance :A
but saw this and thought of your thread ...

  • Went into Branch today to apply to switch. Bank did not have "the person" that deals with this, as is busy all day and not in branch tomorrow. And she asked more than once "does the account that is being switched have 2 active d/d's and £1000 paid in every month ??

She said that they need to be active on the account that is being switched, and i can apply online or the phone.

    another waste of time.

bought a mobile phone today, but came home really tired, so is still in the box that is still in the bag, unopened.
    will have a look tomorrow.

Oh Holly:naughty:, And I could have had the carousel yankee candle advent calender for £20.00 from the florist shop, but resisted, but have to admit looks tempting:D.

No no no no no - move along, you didn't see that, you don't want that & you really don't need that. Just think what else that money could do. Can you tell I'm not a fan of candles? :D

I must confess to using a T light under either eucalyptus and/or menthol. I could do with using it right now as I was double stupid last night. I had a Cadbury's caramel bar (it was really nice!). The double stupid comes from firstly the calories from the chocolate and then the caramel which always leaves me feeling 'bunged up' next morning. No one to blame but myself! I never tell anyone in real life about doing this because I know they will just look at me all bewildered and ask me why I ate it then.
  • Awww, bet it was worth it, though:)

Have a collegue who does the same, knows what she should not eat, but does so anyway, and afterwards ..... well she pays the price but lets us know about it:)

I use Olbas Oil myself when bunged up with a cold.
