  • Has been lovely sunshine since 1st thing this morning, but cold.

Went into centre of town yesterday, and the xmas frenzie has started, might be a while before I'm back there especially on a Saturday.

Took a pair of shoes back, good for me, as I would have normally just put them back in the box and at the bottom of the wardrobe thinking i might get back to them later, much later as in never. However the shop had changed their returns period, which meant I got a credit note instead, however shop a lot in there, so will get used.

So I now have gift vouchers/credit notes etc to use in Dobbies, Ike@, City centre shop and website (which wouldn't return my money after service I paid for did not turn up - they would only give me a credit) which meant I had to pay for service again.

Still to get round to phoning re admin charges re shares, hopefully have found a way round the £20 admin charge per cheque (by asking them to pay monies directly into my account) however don't hold out much hope as i'm sure they will come up with some other kind of excuse.

The large bills this month have stopped me making another o/p on top of my target one, and might be the same for Dec as well, as another has just arrived. What is it with all the large bills coming at once just before Christmas.

Just irritated as trying hard to o/p my 10% before year ends (Have to remind myself, that I have acatually made the 10% over the whole year but as new deal came out in Sept/ Oct I have like another 10% allowed to pay before year ends, but it is hard to meet this, in fact practically impossible, as I dont even earn 10% in the 3 months left that I have of my mortgage figure left.

Still can always hope, waffling on now, time to go.

  • Hi AFK - Congrats on being so strong on the Yankee advent - I looked at them too after reading on here, but I really don't need them at the moment (and may have thought they might be very cheap after Xmas :))

Congrats also on returning the shoes - I'm ashamed to say I've sold a couple of things in recent fleabay binge for which I simply missed the return window!:o

  • Hi

Lil - thanks, not doing too bad yourself with o/p:beer: - don't see it on your signature though:naughty:I'm getting there, shouldn't be off work for too much longer, hopefully.

Hollyboll - Yeah Yankee candles are lovely, but still, always something I can treat myself to, once my mortgage is paid:rotfl:

And felt good returning the shoes, although shame they changed the return period from 28 days to 14, so got credit note instead, and yes I am one of those people who has listed "items" that were not returned to the shop, but filed away in the wardrobe thinking i'll get round to wearing that (maybe),

Was just watching :money:on the tv programme and in awe of those who have managed to have 6-8 bank accounts, so they can get the bonus on switching. Trying to get my head round it as I only have 2 accounts and do not want to move from 1 of them(123), so that would only leave me 1 that i could switch. How do you get more if you keep closing one to switch to one.

Have been reading snippets from your diary, and lots are similar to mine, like the days not moving out of the house, not eating properly:naughty:, and the place needing a bit of a tidy up:rotfl: and losing the mornings reading through some diaries. Will try and read yours from the start very soon.

  • Morning,

Must have been over tired last night, trying to work out the bank switches, as this morning woke up with thinking head on and hey presto - remembered about another 2 accounts I have, so this makes switching a bit easier but complicated if you know what I mean.

Will go to the bank on my way to the PO this morning and get things sorted out for my 1st switch.:D

  • :TMorning
You posted while I was thinking about your query ... I think it comes down to having had a few current accounts from the 'old' days when they used to offer incentives before switching became so automatic / common / part of the deal ...
Well done for finding another couple:T

Thanks, for that Holly:T, takes a bit of time but i'll hopefully get there in the end. If anyone knows how to conjure up a couple of accounts I'm all ears.

Have just invented/arranged another direct debit(robbing peter to pay peter) re internet banking from the account i'm switching as there was only 1 on it, so with 2 now on it, seem to be all set to switch. Feel a bit sad:( as this was my 1st ever account, had it for around 40 years but they give me no interest, benefits etc, so its time to go.

Still need to go to PO and pop into @ldi's on my way back, so better get a move on. Will continue the thinking re switching when i get back. Have to work out forumla;)

  • Oh faff, spot the deliberate mistake, I only went and set up a standing order not a direct debit:mad:

I don't have any direct debits on this account I was switching, only 1 standing order and now i've set up another I have 2:o
I have 1 account that has d/d's coming out of, so will need to change 2 of them over to bank account, not sure if can be done on time.:(
Nothing's simple, need to get with the programme. I'm usually on the ball with this kind of thing, love doing the "logic problems" seems my mind is taking a bit of break like the rest of me:(
Onwards and upwards - sort out that paperwork - it won't sort itself.:p
