As reported by the Independent, HSBC also mistakenly confirmed yesterday that Apple Pay will launch tomorrow, Tuesday 14th July 2015.
Until retailers upgrade the software in their contactless payment terminals, many retailers will limit Apple Pay transactions to the £20 maximum imposed for contactless cards. This is because the existing software cannot distinguish between payments with one-factor authentication (e.g. contactless cards) and two-factor authentication (e.g. Apple Pay). Once retailers upgrade their software, Apple Pay will enjoy no transaction limit, just like chip & PIN.0 -

So when will it launch?0 -

If that is true, I hope it will be easier to understand than the communication that said it was reported mistakenly that it will launch tomorrow.
I also hope it will be easier to set up than what all the (UK) set up guides describe as nothing of what they say actually works. I suppose they forgot to say that the set up will not work until the service is launched, and they also forgot to say how mere mortals will know that the service has actually been launched.

No idea why people rave about apple usability.0 -

I use apple music and like it, just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people won't use it.
As for Apple usability whats wrong with it, sounds like you're one of those people who hate Apple and say android is better.
As they say each to their own!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

Its very easy to set up, I have two US credit cards on my phone already.
You click add card, place the camera over the phone so it can see the picture and it'll read the card number and you enter the 4 or 3 digit security code. Thats about it, you might get a text with a verification code in to verify its you before you can use it.0 -

May be the instructions are in Apple Speak which I haven't yet installed in my brain.0 -
hmh.
where? If you mean in Passbook: I have no 'add card' option showing.
Passbook, but it's not launched yet so not showing just now.place the camera over the phone??? See which picture???
Obviously reclusive meant card and not phone. You align the card to the box that appears on screen and it reads the card number, name and expiry date. You then add the security code and proceed to the next stage where you accept terms. You may then have to verify in some way.
If you want to practise for when it does go live, try changing your phone region to USA. Passbook will show add card. It will fail at the final stage.0 -
Thanks, knack92, that now makes sense :cool:0
