I have just been able to add my RBS debit by changing the region. It is a really simple process!

You can choose to verify by text message or by calling them.

To select billing and delivery address, email address and phone number (for in app payments) it brings up your details from your contact card and you select the details you want to use. Very intuitive.

    Congrats?

I don't even have the option to add a card in Passbook when it's set to English (UK) and when I set it to English (US) it fails to recognise my (RBS) card.

Seems to be coming online slowly so I expect it will work soon.

I use apple music and like it, just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people won't use it.

As for Apple usability whats wrong with it, sounds like you're one of those people who hate Apple and say android is better.

As they say each to their own!!

Not at all. I've got first hand experience of both and find apple very awkward if you don't want to do just the basic apple stuff they let you do. It's not for power users.

I here you can now have a photo folder on ios9! Wow!

Added my Santander debit and credit cards, and it even let me add my non-contactless Nationwide credit card, which is rather impressive.

Sadly, Barclays aren't (yet?) part of the club, so my Barclays Amex and VISA cards will get a lot less use for a while.

I think I might also add my Lloyds/BOS/TSB/Halifax debit cards (all 15 of them) so I can make the odd purchase with them without needing to take the cards on the road.

Unfortunately you'll have to wait until the autumn to do that. Lloyds Banking Group doesn't yet support Apple Pay.

This is a shame for the many people who would like use a Halifax Clarity Card on holiday this summer. Support for Apple Pay is dependent on the country of issue of the card (and card issuer), not on the country in which a transaction is made.

Ah, good point, I remember now LBG aren't in the first tranche.

Would be great if we could also link our Waitrose, Boots, Cafe Nero etc loyalty cards to the cards registered for Apple Pay but I suppose that we'll have to wait for this for a long time.

Very good point. If you Google this, you'll find discussion of this in the US. In the US, it is common to receive discounts when presenting a loyalty card (an electronic version of the paper vouchers given by Sainsbury's etc), so some US consumers are questioning how the discount will be applied if one presents the loyalty card and payment card simultaneously via Apple Pay. One won't be able to query the discount before making the payment, unless of course it is a slower two-step process.

So does Apple store your whole card information? and where?

If it takes off I doubt many plastic cards will exist in ten years.

I am very tempted but I think I will wait and see how it goes.

edit: i just watched a Youtube video of someone using it, it takes ever so longer than using a normal plastic card (contactless).

You have to scan your phone, You have to select the card, scan your thumbprint, and then finally scan your "card" for payment.

With a normal card you just take it out of the wallet and scan.

No Apple doesn't store any card information, nor do they know any details about any transaction such as where it was, how much it was etc.
