You have no clue what you're talking about. Here are the actual figures for a 325i
Urban mpg
28.8 mpg
Extra Urban mpg
49.6 mpg
Average mpg
39.2 mpg
So as I said, yes on a motorway steady run it can near enough do 50 mpg. More realistically probably 45mpg.
Nor do you, you found data online to suit your arguement, I found conflicting data. As you dont and have never owned one the best you can do is look online.0 -
You're a completely narrow minded to have such ignorant view. Yes it's 3 litre but its as or more fuel efficient that your bog standard Vauxhall 1.6 litre petrol.
Maybe in a particular car, but then we all know that in certain Vauxhall models the 1.8 is more efficient.
Using your argument a rough running RX7 is crap on fuel so are all 1.3s also poor on economy?0 -
You're an idiot who has no clue. 20mpg for a 5 year old 325i with a 3 litre engine? Get your facts right
Says it here. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/bmw-325i-short-take-road-test-specs-page-2
Why does that make me an idiot? If you can't see it then maybe you are.0 -
Blimey, I know BMW drivers are often described as w****** but this is ridiculous.
Resorting to abuse because we point out that someone with a VW Up 1.0 on the shortlist probably doesn't want a 3.0 BMW?! Hilarious.0 -

Again more nonsense from you. A manual 2010 Vauxhall Astra 1.8 litre has the same MPG figures as a 3 litre manual 2010 BMW 325i. I suspect on a motorway run the BMW is likely to be slightly more efficient due to better torque and aerodynamics.
And we're not even comparing equivalent size. A 1.8 litre Insignia has WORSE mpg figures than a BMW 325i. Lets not even talk about the automatic transmissions, the 1.6 litre Astra auto has worse mpg figures then the 325i auto.
Oh and the BMW has something like nearly a 100 more HP than the 1.8 petrol astra and goes to 60 in 6.6 seconds.
Oh and the BMW is MUICH better to drive, higher quality interior and more luxury0 -
Dammit, I put DM on my ignore list then you lot keep quoting him so I have to read his drivel anyway!0

Well we know what they say about Audi drives too. What does [STRIKE]darkmatter[/STRIKE] sorry Neil claim to drive?0 -

I've never compared the Vauxhall to a BMW for fuel efficiency. That was you.0 -
IIRC the BMW 325 has the flux capacitor as standard?0
