Forum issues today

I just tried to post a new thread and got the "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET" error message page in Chrome (latest Chrome on Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition, old style green layout, Stylish plug-in operational).

I tried using F5, but the page just went blank and I lost my post as I forgot to copy it the first time

It's been driving me potty! I don't come on here a lot, but this past few days, whenever I do come on here, I get on OK, and read the posts, and click on 'post reply,' then I type what I want to say, but then it stalls. :mad:

I literally have to X out of the site and come back 1-3 minutes later.

It has taken me 3 attempts just to post this!

What IS wrong with it?!

Don't think I can ever remember MSE having this sort of problem for so long, 3 days now and not been fixed.

I keep getting your request timed out message after I hit submit post luckily if I use back page button I can try again and my text is still then in IE on window 8.1.

But if I refresh the page to see if there are any new posts on a thread I am following I get disconnected from MSE. :mad:

Good you got this sorted out as I couldn't even log in, so could not tell you that something was wrong.
On the login page, I entered my username and password then clicked login and nothing happened.
I looked on your facebook and twitter pages and there didn't seem to be a way for punters like myself to leave messages. I understand why, but if we can't login, how can we let you know something is wrong.
Glad its fixed anyways.

Still "fighting" the site to even be able to read it - never mind post on it.

I'm still having real problems staying in the site, I get about two minutes before it times out and then can't get back in to MSE for a good 15 minutes. Just keep getting the website not available message. This has been the same since early on Monday and is really annoying, What is being done to rectify the problem? I'm not technical but there is talk of servers with problems, can this one be fixed or is the demise of MSE?

Could be the last nail in MSE's coffin. It's rapidly gone downhill since Martin sold it.
Looking for other interesting places to spend my time now...
Will copy this in anticipation of it timing out.

Almost like a form of "rationing" is going on - you've had a few minutes and now its someone else's turn. Feels like not enough "space" for all of us..

Well, I'm sure it's annoying the tech team as much as it does us. Why do people think that no-one is doing anything? I'm sure they are! It must be a very serious attack to take this long!
