New day, same problem.

And it's not yet 7 a.m.

Just spent another 10 minutes trying to post this.

Was it worth the effort? Is anyone listening?

Fed up coming here and looking and looking for something from MSE
I do not use Facebook or Twitter, never will. Very unhappy at nothing...

I'm wondering if its the "obat aborsi" spammer. They seem to keep coming back and back - and are "on board" again at this moment - ie them doing the DDOS attack I think is happening.

EDIT; I checked what that meant before and I gather its anti-abortion pills and I seem to recall being surprised at the country that is apparently coming from.

EDIT AGAIN: yep...refresh memory. Think its coming from Indonesia.

It must be a serious attack for it to last this long.

I'm sure they're doing their best to fix it.

From the issues I saw earlier this week, my guess is that the site had fallen victim to a DDOS attack (and not for the first time )
(Edit: I see others have come to the same assumption )

It seems the "tech team" has put in place some form of early time out on users. A DDOS usually involves 'bots' so timing them out presumably stops the demands on the MSE server.

However, the time out also adversely affects genuine users enjoyment of this site.

As I posted earlier, refresh (F5) and 'retry' successfully posts the reply (without retyping it )

Perhaps the next message we'll see here is that they have shut the forums for good and suggest we all use twitter instead, like MSE Martin has been doing for years.
