I've not achieved much today. DS bedding is out on the line but the next lot is finished and I haven't hung it out - and I'm still working. Did get a mid-week shop this morning though and DS some new school shorts as he can't get last years over his hips
I've just ordered myself a birthday present- hah must fill in my expenses form from the trip...
Right, I'm just finishing up paid stuff then I'll go hang up some laundry and play with my daughter until school run time. Yikes, that's not far away!Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Spent most of today trying to sort out getting my non-molestation order against the ex husband. Was told by the solicitor that legal aid may not fund it as he hasn't actually contacted or been abusive for a few months  If I don't get funding I can afford to get it get it done. How do I explain that t the kids?
Also been trying to sort out the paperwork for the variation to my court order regarding my rent arrears. Went to the housing association office to get help with the forms as I don't know half the information they want to know. The people in the office "don't deal with it" so was put on the phone to the department that do (at least I didn't have to pay for the call :money: ) The woman I spoke to then decided I shouldn't do the forms but to carry on paying off the arrears as I am
All this had to be done in the town were the ex husband is believed to be living so I was really on edge. Met up with my friend who brought me lunch but I came home straight after as I felt so uncomfortable, it's a good thing he understands all this
Now I'm home I don't feel like doing much so might wait til DD1 get's home to help me. DD2 is staying at my best friends house tonight, her daughters help her with revision
I might put a film on and get the duster out

Well done on all the jobs today everyone!
Well sat my exam this morning, stupid cow that I am, read the time wrong and only realised I should be there ten minutes before it was due to start. Que me in the middle of the city, shoes in hand, bare foot, running hell for leather!!!! Just made it in time!!!! Don't think it went amazingly though. As I finished 45 mins early even after a read through! Picked littlies up from nursery, have cleaned the kitchen sink, done one load of washing, cleaned and filled the paddling pool and loaded the DW. Oh and I did the tesco shopping online at 7am, to be delivered tonight. So more off list than on but things are getting done at least.
Hmmm thinking of dinner, what on earth do you eat/cook when it's this hot? Can't be bothered with a bbq.... any suggestions, kid friendly.
Right will hang the washing out! Might even have half a shandy too!
Ps poor you wendywitch, sounds like an absolute nightmare0 -
hi all, I've just started following and am a bit confused about the LW abbreviation. Can someone explain it please?
TIA
Thrilling Thursday!! ~ Splendiforous Studies and Stairs!
Level One.
Pick up 30 items and put them away.. it doesn't matter where you pick them up from or what you do with them so long as they are in their place, or the bin or the chazzer bag! LW... get out 15 items again then put them away again, shake it up by doing 15 different items to yesterday!! I probably have got out & put away 15 items - all kitchen stuff, as I've made a carrot'n'orange cake, a nut loaf and a "strapple" crumble today.:D
Declutter, degrot and destickify the desk or table... all the mug rings and biscuit crumbs and stuff. Did the kitchen worktop after I'd finished the baking.;)
File away the paperwork and shred what you don't need. All up to date.:o
Level Two
Defrag the computer, run virus scan, delete your emails. Decrumb the keyboard and mop the monitorWIP; I have just 3 emails stored on the pc and 5 on the netbook, all to do with "current" stuff. Defrag will happen shortly; I will leave it to trundle along while I take Alfie for his afternoon walk.;)
Sort the shoes and coats and bags in the hallway.. can any go away for the summer, or away forever? All are away, bar the ones I need for Alfie's walk.
Shine any mirrors and dusty those ornaments. Done.
Level Three.
Vacuum all the fluffy floors Can't get to the vacuum - wheelchair in the way til Saturday. Plan is for Mr LW to move the furniture once Alfie's gone home Saturday morning, so that I can get the line of shed hair that will be under the front of the sofa.
Wipe down the paintwork in these areas.. I get the raw deal here.. I have wooden stairs! Done as best I can manage
Wash any nets or curtains that need freshening up.. anywhere in the house. Need Mr LW's assistance with this, so again, a weekend task
Extras, if you are a glutton for slaving away over a hot microfibre cloth.!!
Sort a cupboard or drawer All sorted and tidy - even the hall cupboard!
Wipe door knobs and handles Done
Get your finances up to date, your spreadsheets and bills and other boring grown up stuff .. Are all your insurances in order and filed pretty? All up to date. Only item outstanding is pay in cheque from DVLA (refunded tax on written-off car) which arrived in the post today - this will be done Saturday.
...Next.. sit on your chair or the stairs and admire your pretty space and that little thing you can now see which needs doing... do it.. then you can have a delicious cuppa!!
Actually, Saturday is going to be a tad busy; Mr LW is picking up his new car from Northampton (then I can get the wheelchair out of the spare room, hooray); Alfie is being collected at about 10:30, then we have several errands in town to do, including paying in that cheque and the weekly F&V run, and finally, if I have enough spoons left, visit the Witches Market which is on at the Buszy in Central MK.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
elastic, it's really satisfying after weeding when you can look back at what you've achieved! Definitely worth the graft (and of course because of this my garden is weed-free....ahem)
Wendy, that sounds awful. I don't know the background to your situation but I hope it gets resolved soon.
missymoo, chicken wraps (either chicken breast or really any chicken you have) with warm or cold chicken and lots of salady bits is always nice. My mum makes some mean chicken fajitas too which are always nice when its like this.Every act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

Thank you bargain hunterss. That's perfect. Although littlies are already in bed as they were both falling asleep into their dinners (we ended up with pizza, but Defo chicken wraps tomorrow. Yum!) so I am rally lazily, sitting in the sunshine watching the leaves blowing in the wind! Since last post i managed to cook dinner, hang washing and water all plants, front and back. Feels strange not to Have loads of revision or OH taking up my time and space. Feels really naughty doing nothing. I know I should be cleaning but today is a one off early evening of freedom, I'm going to run a bath and chill. Will Get back on it after work tomorrow.0

Ps feeling bad already for my laziness, I promise I will put 30 things back in their rightful homes!0

Hi all,
Today has been shredding day.
I've got rid of *that* pile of paperwork that's been sat there for ages.
I've got one corner to do in the kitchen now, and then the place will be pretty much straight...not perfect but straight enough for visitors.
I've hoovered today, and cleaned the surfaces in the lounge.
I have 2 old handbags to empty this evening and bin/shred the junk in the bottom, and that's the cupboard of doom finished too.
For us, a fail safe, kid friendly tea when it's warm is pasta salad. Cold pasta with cucumber, tomatoes, peppers all cut into chunks, some sweetcorn...All mixed together with a squirter of mayo. Add a couple of bits of cheese to the side of the plate and you're done. Quick, easy, pretty healthy and delicious.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -
Fab dinner willowpop!!! My kids love pasta too! I love this thread!
