Well done on all the sorting, again pigpen. Sounds like everyone has done loads of washing!

Going to put the litties to bed early as both are exhausted after their late night yesterday. Then I'm not sure what I'm going to achieve! I keep yawning myself! X

DD1 was less amused that I have 2 binbags of stuff for her house!!

I got all Pixies clothes away.. sorted Dots so I now have to halve the amount of clothes Pixie has because it won't all fit in!! Squeaks fits away beautifully.

Dots need streamlining too.. she has 9 drawers of clothes.. she is 3.. does she REALLY need that many? Her PJs and nursery clothes are downstairs!

Oooh sounds like bedtime in here!!!

I know what you mean pigpen, may is just 2 and I swear she has more clothes than me. And as for Roo, he has about 15 Pairs of pyjamas!!

Littlies are in bed, albeit not asleep, eventhough they're shattered?! Have pegged the last Los of washing out, just as next door lit their bbq!! Bloody annoying! And it's right next to it!! But I'd only just put it out, that can stay there til tomorrow in the hope the smell will be gone!!

Well Ive just changed my bed, had a bath and got in it!!! Have so much washing to sort but I've lost my guag, if someone has any spare and would like to pass it my way, please do. Does anyone else just look at the mess and just think, ehats the bloody point! It will all be a mess again within ten minutes of waking tomorrow!!!
Hoping to find some more energy tomorrow, as it's Monday. Trouble is ive done all of the easy most satisfying bits, now I'm just left with the lengthy, dull boring bits. Like going through the littlies toys and sorting the utility room, and doing two huge idea bags full Of ironing. Oh and putting away 4 x more washing!!!

I know what you mean, missymoo I ought to tidy the conservatory but I know by this time tomorrow it'll be a tip again. So I am only on getting ready for morning duty.
Going to sort my lunch, get the bags together then go wash my hair, and do my nails if it's not too late.
Back to the grindstone tomorrow:( think I need to apologise to boss man I snapped at him a bit on Thursday...

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having wonderful weeks so far :-)

My new-found motivation to tidy and de-clutter is slowly working!

Since OH moved back from working away, our weekly batch-cooking all our meals for the week on a Sunday evening is freeing up our weekday evenings for things like the gym, running, tidying etc. - instead of him spending hours every night cooking and then us never having time to do anything else. Score! :-D

I've also done three rounds of decluttering junk and stuff I never wear/use and punted them off to various fundraisers.

My washing is being kept up to date and put away (!!!) for the first time in forever.

As a consequence of batch-cooking and meal planning, we're saving heaps on our shopping bill by only buying what we need and using up our huge store cupboard/freezer full of food. We've HALVED our monthly shopping bill for the past 2 months which will be put towards the house deposit *does happy dance*

Sorting out what I have has also meant me uncovering stockpiles of forgotten hoarded washing up liquid, fabric softener, cleaning products, shower gels and various other "consumables" that I haven't needed to buy for months.

I've also decided to stop fighting the inevitable and try to work with it. Every evening we put out clothes for the next day which has usually meant a constant pile of clothes on the dressing table and hangers on the wardrobe door knobs which looks untidy - so I've put up two hooks for each of us along with a side-table with two baskets - voila! It looks much neater and I sleep better in a tidy rather than a cluttered bedroom!

Same goes for stockpiled store cupboard staples, they all now have been decanted from their packaging and have their own glass/plastic storage jars. My spare decorative cat tail key hooks have been repurposed to hang mesh bags of fruit and decorative hooks have been attached to the side of my kitchen shelves with pretty reusable vintage shopping bags full of crisps, sweets, biscuits etc. rather than having bags of junk cluttering up my shelves.

Is it weird that this all makes me really happy?

Nope, KBoss, being happy because you've started getting organised isn't weird - it makes complete sense. It means you don't have to spend your time surrounded by chaos and feeling over-whelmed, it means you can focus on finding a creative and constructive way forward - like meal planning and batch cooking.
