Good afternoon, I have not posted for a few weeks as I have been ill with the flu and then struggling for motivation. I am still struggling a bit but I need to try and get things organised and get things done. For this weekend I have decided to see how much I can get done from this weeks list.

So this morning I have decluttered a little run, volunteered at park run. Got home- everyone showered and got everyone a snack and a drink. Then out to nursery school fete. Won two bottles of wine! did the weekly shop and then back home.
First load of washing has been brought in off line and needs folding. As it wS such a good drying day I have put a second load on the line to blow dry!

I'm probably being really unreasonable but we got in from shopping. Everything was dumped in hallway, jackets, shoes, prizes from the fete and other cr*p. The dry towels were dumped on the stairs by OH last night and are a hazard!! So what do kiddies and hubby do? Take all their stuff on, leave it sprawled in the hallway, go up to the living room and put the TV on and gave been sat there for the last hour!!

I collected the washing in, put the next load out, cleared the towels, put all the shopping away, gave the kitchen a quick once over as it was a pit! They just don't see it! Hubby never sees the washing. If the washing has finished and I'm not around it would stay in there all day and all night! I can't remember the last time he pegged any out.

Anyway, I'm probably overacting but have cleared all the general stuff but left their shoes, water bottles and gubbins in the hallway. Made myself a cuppa and come upstairs to enjoy it in peace and have 5 minutes. Going to finish this and then fold all the dry clothes! Not much done off the list though :(

    Fold towels from the linE

I have whirligig trauma :p it's blowing a hoolie here so thought I'd get the washing out this morning. But it's so wild, the wind took hold of the whirligig and almost tore it out of the ground  the cemented in slot tube has been pushed to a 45deg angle! So I brought the washing in and took the post out before the whole thing took flight and harpooned somebody:eek:
The washing had been out for 30min and everything except denims were dry :rotfl:
When the garden fella comes in 2 weeks to do my path I'll ask him to cement it back in and we'll make the hole smaller.

We've been to a mini steam rally, just a small one, so kiddies had a couple of rides but it was too windy to stay long. Went to friends for a brew after and now we're home and in pjs :D

I've just cleaned the downstairs loo (inc toothbrush round the taps _pale_), emptied the DW, made some snacks and put the heating on...

CY pleased they're getting you sorted quickly x

Lovely to see you back again Poohbear!

And welcome to all lurkers who have surfaced recently.

Super-quick *diagnostic and healing vibes* for your OH, FFP. It all sounds very scarey. Healing vibes for you, as well MMM. I'll be thinking of you on Friday, CY, together with some post-operative *healing vibes*.

Valli The only Italian I can remember learning from our procession of Italian scientific lodgers that we actually use is 'Bon appetito' at the beginning of every meal. It's such a lovely thing to say, exactly the same as the French 'Bon apetite' really and it charms me every time OH remembers to say or, or says it when I say it to him. Cin cin for your prosecco!

MissyMoo, I returned to a boyf's house many years ago to find his mother had gone through the whole place and cleaned it and put my knickers on the pillow. Very prominently on top of the bedspread. I rather wish I'd had the nerve to leave a corset lying around now!

Frizzle, it sounds as though you are really beleaguered by the lack of help in your household. I'm afraid that if you don't tell your children what you expect them to do, they will never pitch in and the same probably goes for your OH. Was it Kazwookie who went on strike and didn't cook, clean or do anyone else's washing last year until they started helping around the house?

*Respect* Pigpen for your Ebaying. After a really horrible experience last year I decided to knock it on the head completely and I now donate everything to the two local hospice shops within easy walking distance - one for everyday stuff, one specialising in 'treasures' and it's all gift-aided. As a result I've got a huge pile of bubblewrap that'll be going soon so that'll be at least another couple of boxes emptied out of the attic, possibly three or four. Several years worth in fact, including most of the roll I used when I packed up my parents things over ten years ago.

The two lodgers go tomorrow so we've got the house to ourselves for a couple of days until Lovely Lodger returns on Tuesday and then later in the week our occasional lodger will be around for at least three nights, possibly four, as her big annual event is happening next Saturday. It'll feel very odd being so quiet. OH and I are finishing off the outside at the back tomorrow and then the chalet later in the week. At last.
    Better is good enough.
  • Good day everyone - didn't manage to get on laptop before dashing out this am - library then shopping!
Have just decided what to take for myself on hols and listed it so I don't forget and wear something I'm taking. Just a few bits to wash then I'm OK. Will sort DH's tomorrow - he doesn't do packing!
Need to catch up with gardening and cleaning before we go so I'll be busy. Thank goodness the Grand Prix is in Canada!

Hugs to FFP and to CY for your op next week. If I've forgotten anyone sorry. x Enjoy rest of weekend and catch up Monday. x

hello everyone! Hope hubby's p, and that you're getting soem rest. Both the kids off to their respective employment; DS is in his pub in Sheff; took him, came back, took her. The prosecco's still in the fridge *sigh*. A friend suggested they get taxis back but it would wipe out so much of their pay (even DD, who is within walking distance) it really isn't worth it. While DD is happy to walk there (and I'm happy for her to) I don't really want her walking back at around midnight. I've also been to foodmarket this morning! And I have pegged out washing and it has dried rapidly in the warm breeze.

So I am planning on getting some cleaning and clearing done while the house is quiet.

5 boxes sorted.. I have a binbag of rubbish, 2 things for ebeast (already listed) several things just put away and a small carrier bag left to store in the loft.. and 2 boxes of Christmas presents on top of the wardrobe.. My towels cupboard is almost clear.

I have put away some bedding which was in a drawer in my room freeing up a drawer for bedding I use.

I have a kindle fire to go on ebeast too.. and a brand new £400 phone.. see if I can scrape together some cash from that one.. :D I bought it for.. £99 with £10 cashback.. but it won't accept DD2's SIM. I might go find those now actually and get those flung.

I need to sort DD2's new contract too.. that is getting knocked down several quids I need to save pennies somewhere. When DD1's is up for renewal she is getting that handed to her to pay it herself.. she's 21 that is old enough to pay her own phone bill I'm sure!

I haven't done much today. 3 loads of washing, 1 load in the DW. Stripped the damaged strip of wallpaper in the front room and strimmed some more of the back garden.
Then DD1 and boyfriend turned up with his old vivarium for DD1's chameleon. Then they went off to pick up a glass coffee table she won on eb@y for it to sit on. We then spent the afternoon moving the front room round to accommodate the new vivarium, it's huge  and the lights are bigger and brighter so I doubt we'll be using our main light much :)
    Oh well there's always tomorrow
