I know I'm having birthday cake because I bought it yesterday. OH is a good guy, but doesn't understand my mixed feelings today. I am working hard at concentrating on the positives, a bit of sunshine would certainly help.
Well, I think mixed feelings are in order if you've had to organise your own birthday. Men!(I just lurve spiders!)

Thanks, Pyxis, your cakes etc seem to have helped trip the switch, plus at least a few minutes of sun. At last it feels like a birthday!:)Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0

Happy Birthday, Solar! Have a drink of errr something nice!
What a lovely story, SDW. I bet your husbands teaching friend was very touched that he remembered, especially as he followed him down the same path.
I am loving the jokes, Pyxis! Unfortunately, I read them to WaSp and am now being bombarded by every joke that he can think of. Help me.
I used to have two maine coons, Stoodles! They were sisters who got on incredibly well and could always be found cuddled up together. They are very laid back cats although mine were never lap cats, preferring the seat next to me. The youngest, though would always make sure a part of her was touching me at all times, even if it was a paw on my foot.
I chose a Father's Day card for my teacher friend today. I send him one every year because he really is like a dad to me and I know it means a lot to him when I say that. Big hugs in advance to anyone who finds that day difficult, please use this thread if you need to talk. Extra hugs for Georgie.

Special hugs for anyone, like me, who misses their dad. (Some for today and some for next Sunday

Hugs JM, I miss my biological dad, too. I was lucky to have two wonderful dad's in my life.
