Cat bathing is not my vocation. It was only possible because he is a very laid back Maine Coon. He was quite distressed by the whole thing, but didn't lash out at all. The injury was only because he caught my arm while trying to climb out of the sink. It was nice to see that he is properly attached to us though: within half an hour he was coming for comfort and reassurance that this horrible thing was over.
The whole process was made necessary by his heroism in ridding the allotment of moles. We've added so much muck to our sandy soil that ours is the wormiest allotment, and the moles love it. His Lordship came in late one morning, covered in mud and muck that was worked right through his coat, and completely exhausted. We found a dead mole later in the day. It must have been a huge job for him.
I'm glad the dog isn't at risk -though very sorry for your knitting. All that work gone to pot-ty.0 -
I did a 4.30am walk the other day too Stoodles, it was lovely! We live in the hills so there was lots of mist in the valleys which made for a nice view.
Was supposed to be starting painting the nursery today, only a load of brickwork above the window has come down. Landlord is getting a roofer in at some point, but it looks very structural. Not sure my temper will hold much longer! Just want to get things sorted ready for babys arrival and it just doesn't seem to be happening.
Managed to keep my temper in check for a while now, but these past few days is really pushing my inner hulk. Hope the midwife has looked in to some help for me ready for my next appointment0 -
A string of wool walks into a bar and orders a beer, but the bartender snarls, “We don’t serve your kind here!”. The wool is forced to leave. While sitting on the curb feeling sorry for himself, the wool is suddenly hit with a brilliant idea. Working quickly, he ties himself into a knot and unravels his ends. Taking a deep breath, the wool marches back into the bar and orders a beer.“Hey!” says the bartender. “Ain’t you that piece of wool I just threw outta here?”“Nope,” replies the wool, “I’m a frayed knot.”
What happened to the cat who ate a ball of wool? Answer: She had mittens!
Wool is a favourte material to use in knitting, and everyone knows that wool comes from sheep. But do you know how many sheep it takes to make a whole sweater? Answer: None, because sheep can't knit!(I just lurve spiders!)

One summer may years ago in my early teens I got up every day at 4.30 am and went for a walk across the fields, came back to bed and got up at 7.30 with the rest of the family. It was wonderful, just me and the dawn.
Today I have done a load of dishwashing, cleaned loo & sink upstairs, cleaned loo & sink downstairs, moved all my hobby stuff upstairs, made some phone calls, groomed the dog, swept the conservatory, dusted some surfaces, put various things to chill, put various things to thaw, prepared a salad, blown up some balloons and opened my birthday cards, all from people I would like to be here but aren't. Now watching the grey sky & hoping it goes blue.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -

Aw, thanks guys. I just can't seem to get into the appropriate happy mood, but all those sparkly things certainly helps! I know I'm having birthday cake because I bought it yesterday. OH is a good guy, but doesn't understand my mixed feelings today. I am working hard at concentrating on the positives, a bit of sunshine would certainly help.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0
