I know the feeling. I get it everywhere when I dye my hair. just a messy moo!!!!Am I ok to have a little vent about my neighbours before I lose it ?
Feel free :rotfl:

Hello All! I am home!
What a wonderful, wonderful holiday! I am so grateful to our friend for the opportunity, it was just perfect! I cannot believe how much i managed to do. All of the animal parks were totally accommodating to me visiting after closing, in fact I have never had any centre refuse yet. People are so kind. One of the great things about visiting after they closed was I saw things people don't usually see such as the animal areas being cleaned out and them being handled.
There were so many quiet beaches too, where we hardly saw anyone apart from the occasional owner and doggie. It was so nice to be in the open air! i seem to be sun burnt after forgetting my cream for one day, there is no tanning for me, it's straight to lobster!
I did try to sit in a quiet pub but i couldn't cope for longer than 5 minutes, it felt as if the walls were closing in and I couldn't breathe. But slowly does it, I don't want to run before i can walk.
So my plan now is to keep up my once a month trips out but also try to go for a drive once a week, now I have been out more regularly and it was successful it will hopefully be easier to continue it. In 3 weeks time i travel to near Wales to visit my teacher friend and stay overnight, I am far more confident about this after my amazing holiday!
Now I shall attempt to catch up on the thread, i have a lot of reading to do!

Thanks codemonkey i must admit have had loads of compliments from my office but took OH 2 DAYS TO NOTICE! and my housemate hasn't even commented bloody men :rotfl:
Ok on to the neighbours I am probably going to come off as a cow in this so sorry in advance
My old next door neighbour decided to rent out his property after his GF passed away in March. He has rented to an Eastern European group consisting of 4 adults (2 couples) and 2 young children 2 & 4 at first they seemed ok but the noise they make is really begining to get on my nerves
The first week they moved in they were doing DIY till gone 12pm I gave them the benefit of the doubt as they were just getting moved in ect. I even dropped a card into them to say hello and welcome them to the street and put our names and door number on it. The first weekend there they had a big bbq lots of noise but again didn't mind as I was expecting a house warming party.
Since then it has just gotten to become a regular occurance that they are having bbq's that go on until the early hours every weekend this weekend being the worst. In fact on a Sunday when I finish my pub shift i don't actually want to go home as I don't like having my TV on 46 just to be able to hear it.
They make noise all the time and it's not just general noise it's the kids screaming, banging, loud talking in the garden, running full pelt up and down the stairs and through the house, loud music ect
My other neighbours have had to have words with them over the noise aswell so I know it's not just me
They also make me feel very uncomfy when I go out into my garden this maybe down to my anxiety but it's made me stop using the garden completely. A few weekends ago i wasn't feeling well so was still in my PJ's i was on the phone to my nan looking out into the garden and I think they thought I was staring. I let the dogs out a little while later and they all went quite. The dogs started to get close to the fence due to the BBQ smell so I made a joke and said "no kids I don't think they want to share with you smelly mutts come away" and they just ignored me so I went back second the door closed their conversation resumed.
Yesterday the same thing happened every time i stepped into my garden they all stopped talking and just watched what I was doing there was about 7-8 blokes all watching me over the fence. I nodded an acknowledgement and said hello and was just blanked. I know at least one of the woman can speak English as I have chatted to her about her children when we have walked to the bus stop
I don't know what to do next and I feel really miserable that I can't enjoy my garden any moreFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Firstly, welcome home to WaS. Congratulations on your holiday and adventures, glad you feel more confident about visiting your friend soon.
I too am heading home for a few days then off to france and spain.
Faith I do feel for you. Neighbours can be difficult, I dont have any advice as you seem to have done the logical introductions etc. Do you have contact details for your old neighbour?
Ww, hoping to do a tough mudder or similar in 2016. Will report back on progress as and when!
Fiery red is awesome, i used to put multicoloured streaks in mine, these dsys just let the sun lighten it and hope the few greys are invisible in the mousy mix!
MU, so glad to see the support. I've done everything from cleaning loos to serving food. People are horrid to others for no reason. It is so frustrating and unfair.
Codemonkey, those sound interesting, think I prefer mine savoury too but love the coconut oil frying.0 -
Hello, oldestgnome! I am loving the photo's of your trip! I have followed your blog all of the way through it.
Oh Faith, that would drive me insane. Do you have the contact details of your original neighbour? if you do i would point out the disturbance to him, that isn't fair on you at all. Could you and all of the other neighbours who have complained perhaps write to him together?Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Welcome Home WaS! Can't wait to see some photos! Particularly of your sandcastles. Is there one with Sir P. atop?:D It's a good idea to go out at least once a week. During the summer, why not aim for twice a week? One short drive and one longer drive? After all, if you can go out every day on holiday, I'm sure you could manage twice a week?
To add to the incentive, why not google all interesting places within a 20 or 30 mile radius of your home......viewpoints, picnic spots, maybe even somewhere that has its gardens open, without you having to go in the house? Then you could make a list of places to visit.....some for dry days, some for rainy days!
The Adventures of WaS.
Faith, there's nothing worse than feeling you have no privacy in your garden.
For the long term, would it be possible to plant some shrubs that could screen you a bit? No good for this year, but might help for next year. I take it the fencing is see-through? And that it is next door's fence and not yours?
The other thing you could do is just to keep going out there. It's your garden, you have every right to be there, and if they don't like it, tough! They'll soon get used to you and stop staring!
The only other thing you can do is try to befriend the women, and then let drop that the noise does bother you.
I don't feel you should contact the landlord until everything else has been tried....it could make things a lot worse.
Edit....just a thought, why not find out how to say hello and goodbye in their language, and then say that to them! Guaranteed to raise a smile! Then you could ask them how to say other things, and ask about where they're from etc!, how they like England and English food, and beer! Etc. etc. Should break the ice!
Oh, and talk about the weather! Hahaha!(I just lurve spiders!)

Well its been a heck of a week. Student Finance England have been leading me on a merry dance getting DSA reimbursments but slowly getting sorted. Then someone turned round saying even though you have started a new degree you transferred classes over right? Erm yeah was my reply. Then he said oh I need to get the awards people or whatever they are called in case you actually entitled to the lower fees an a grant instead of a loan. Despite the OU and SFE both telling me I needed loan. Jeesh I swear the finance side of a degree is a pain in the butt.
Plus side settling in to the new place and relaxing. Well besides the neighbourhood cats weeing and pooing in our garden and the cat sick this morning lol. Thank god I have had my colouring books and such to keep me calm. It relaxes me and stuff.“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

Aw, what a pain DNF! I really hope you manage to get it all sorted soon. Colouring is one of my favourite things!
That is a really good idea, Pyxis! There is countryside a few miles away so we should be able to find some isolated places. I cannot describe how wonderful it felt to be in the open air, being outside has never been my problem, it's people. There has to be some very quiet places around here, i shall start searching!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

WaS, you would have enjoyed my Sunday morning. We parked our camper overnight in a green lane, and when we woke it was sunny and silent apart from the birds. We walked the length of the lane, and never saw any sign of human beings, let alone meeting any.
Being the pedants we both are, we felt it necessary to point out to each other that even though we couldn't see buildings or power lines, this was not actually what the countryside looked like a few hundred years ago, as enclosure, filed sizes and the scientific breeding of crops had all changed. It was idyllic though.0 -
