  • Yes dating sites seem to bring out some horrors, but there's good people on there too. Making frequent use of the block button is wonderful!

I'm not sure how the MH services work in all the different areas, but I'm suspecting I'll need to need to fight to get a service to take me on. I probably also fall between tiers, and have decided to refuse to be palmed off. If they send you to a less urgent service, tell them it'll bring you into crisis if you get no help as that is what happened last time

  • The tone in my last post is prob off - I don't mean lie, just be extremely clear that by them refusing to treat you the ultimate effect is that there is no treatment at all.

Sorry, I'm a bit foggy. A major sugar craving just hit. I've been trying to not eat so much crap - but oh this craving is strong that trying to think of anything else hurts my head

Aww I'm gutted :( my nice housemate is moving out tomorrow

But I've just been up to see her and have had a drink and a chat and exchanged numbers. Really going to miss her!

edit: plus we had a good moan about twatty housemate :p apparently his latest complaint is the bins. he is literally the only person who uses the kitchen bin and fills it up, so i dont see how he can;t be the one to put that out (i always put the recycling rubbish out as i actually use that one) . I personally took out the black bin and the bin last week, so its not like i'm not putting out the bin but apparently he said he wanted a house meeting to draw up a roster, landlord told him NOT to do that and that he personally will drive by each week to make sure its put out (which i feel bad for him for, he's far too nice for his own good!).

I'm hoping so, she suggested i ask the landlord if he'll consider another female, just so i'm not outnumbered by men (not that its an issue but i'm worried if twatty housemate has someone else he can have on his side i'm going to be the one getting ganged up on :( )

She also asked if i wanted her room, but i can't justify the extra £60 a month when i'm at Swain's a lot of the time

There's a video i've seen on facebook and now in the news of some women who ent on a rant about fat people....it basically got my goat up sightly as i saw a "friend" had liked it....which led to me posting this small rant:
've given a bit more thought to "that" video
Basically.....if you're the kind of person that likes it, and agrees with it. Then you're ok with telling someone they are fat. So c'mon. Say it to my face. tell me how fat and disgusting i am, how i need to eat less. Don't come out with "i'm saying this....but oh i don't mean those who genuinely have problems" that is BULL****. If you have an opinion, own that f*ing opinion. Don't give yourself a nifty get out clause to make yourself somehow feel better. Its like when people slag off those on benefits but conveniently add that that does't apply to those genuinely needing help.
Maybe its cos i'm fat, and i've struggled with my weight for..hell..most of my adult life (and teen life) that i would never think to say to someone "wow, you've gotten fat", likewise id never tell somebody who's skinny to "eat a f(ing burger or something"

Nicole Arbour clearly speaks as someone who's never been fat, she's probably never has issues with her weight. Its easy for her to look at a fat person and judge them. I'm not going to sugercoat it, some people (maybe a lot of people) are fat because maybe they eat too much and don't exercise enough. But there are people who are fat cos they overeat for psychological reasons (no different to anorexia or bulnmia), maybe they have PCOS or thyroid problems, maybe they are on psychiatric medication that has weight gain as a side effect (look up olanzapine as an example...people have straight out sued them for developing diabetes from the wight gain side effect). The point is, you don't know. You cannot as Nicole does, judge every fat person, you do not know them. Yo don;t know why they are fat, You assume its just cos they stuff their faces. But you are stereotyping. And yes, fat shaming. You're making someone ashamed because they are fat. And you're doing that because you are judging them based on nothing except what you see in front of you. Perhaps you've never hard the saying "don;t judge a book by its cover" but that's exactly what you are doing if you watch that video and agree with it. And if you choose to do that, at least have the f(ing balls to tell me i'm fat to my face.
    [/rant]

Is Swain moving in an option? Or is he too far away?

I was referred to neurology in November and received a letter in June about this. (there's a huge waiting list for that clinic) I completely forgot about that letter and received another one yesterday.

There are some strange people about! Does he not realise he's the only one using the kitchen bin? Does he not realise that you put out the recycling?
How hard is it to put out a rubbish bin once a week? :(

Was the twitty housemate part of the reason for your nice housemate moving out? If so, it might be good for you if she tells your landlord that.

When I have strong food cravings or am very hungry, eg on a fast day, and it becomes overwhelming, I find that having a cup of coffee really helps. (I drink coffee black, so I don't know if it works with milky coffee). It seems to fill me up more than tea does, and the strong lingering taste helps to curb the cravings.

It might be worth a try?

Good rant MU! I haven't seen the video in question, which is a good thing as it means no-one on my FB has liked or shared it!
