quick update - so far it's all going ok. We have been out working in the garden all day laying solid York stone slabs, just come in for showers and then dinner - so we will see how the evening goes. She brought me huge massive basil plant which she knows is my favourite and a pot of her homemade pickled beetroot ( which I would sell my soul for!) - she is a lovely lovely lady and we love each other to bits - she has just had a habit of being a bit rude in the past and it has really hurt me. It may help that also, (and you may all need to sit down because this is the first time it has happened this year!!!) - I slept for 5 hours straight last night without waking up once!!!!! Woooooo Hooooooo!
  • Wooooo! Great news on the sleep, Flybaby! Perfect timing for it! So glad it is going well, hopefully you will have a lovely weekend!

I have been sitting down sewing.

My first day off shift was Thursday. I made the decision that I was going to get rid of the sewing pile that's been lying around/on/beside the dining table for months.

So far, I've made up the free gift from a cross stitch magazine (that took all of Thursday), four pairs of jeans/trousers shortened, hemmed, ironed and washed, 5 x loads of laundry, the hooks and eyes on a cardigan strengthened, the shoulder pads of a charity shop jacket attached to the seams so that they lie flat when I put the jacket on and now I'm supposed to be turning a shopping bag into a shoe bag.

    I'm on MSE Forum instead.

I've bought food into the house, just for these days, I've locked the front door, I'm deliberately wearing slobby clothes so that I don't go out and honestly, it's like pulling teeth. I'm bored but I want to finish so that I can start the rest of the unfinished jobs.

Stripping varnish off two wooden chairs, finishing stripping a door, finishing stripping some woodwork around two bedroom doors and then deciding what to do with it all.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...
  • You are doing amazingly well, Ginger! Well done for getting so much done. You put me to shame, I have moved from the bedroom to the bathroom to the sofa and have been here ever since.

I'm very grateful my best friend's gf isn't the jealous type, albeit its a slightly different situation as we had dated in the past. but by the time they got together we'd had a platonic friendship far longer than the initial relationship. I'm actually really good friends with her too. One of his exes really didn't like him being friends with me, and he basically told her if she was going to be jealous, it wasn't going to work.

I retracted my angry note from last night....and instead decided to fight fire with fire....and went and bought myself some new candles :D which i just used whilst i had a lovely relaxing bath. And they are now stored away on the shelf....so i can see if anything happens to them. If anything does i'm nearer to proving it was deliberate.

Work today actually wasn't bad at all, 3 more days then i'm off and get to see Swain (and try on my hello kitty shoes he's bought me for my birthday! and i'm letting him plug his own phone charger in this time :rotfl: )

Also there was mention a few pages back about lucky charms, there are two shops near where i work that sell them, so if WaS is wanting some to try i can send them via whoever can get them there? :)

  • Aw, MU! How sweet of you! Funnily enough, I sent WaSp to Asda today to look for them and they don't sell them much to my disappointment! I will happily pay you for a box and for postage if you could send me some to try, please? Sometimes it is really not being able to wander around different shops. I had to console myself with marshmallow flavoured e-cig oil!

Good on you for getting some more candles, keep a close watch on them. I am also glad that work went ok today. Hello Kitty shoes? I am going to have to Google those...
