Hope you had a good time, code? Well done for socialising!

I would love fizzy e-liquid, MU! I am stuck with ordering from Amazon and most of the flavours are a bit dull really. I need to have a hunt for an online vape shop! WaSp only likes tobacco flavour really, funnily enough I don't crave the taste at all.

Well done, Ginger! You have achieved so much! I hope Homebase is fun or at least not packed out.
The one i get them from doesn't seem to have an online shop, but shall have a look at what they've got for you. :) Off the top of my head i know they do cola, vanilla, candy floss, and the new ones i;ve seen include the strawberry custard and blue slush. They're not open tomorrow but will pop in on monday before i go to work.

May I add into the productive theme that I send off 5 NVQ units to be assessed yesterday? Two more units and I'm done and theoretically qualified. Which feels odd because I still don't feel as if I know what I'm doing half the time.
However my house and garden still leave a lot to be desired. I had a conversation with the boss about possibly dropping a day in the future and having. 4 day week - not sure if I can afford it but the idea definitely appeals.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Don't worry about that, Elsien! Getting the paper qualification is only the first step. Knowing what you're doing comes with experience.
My first career took four years part-time study to qualify in, and after another six years I still felt like I didn't know what I was doing, so I felt a change of career might be useful!
So, another four years full-time training in a completely different field, then a year's post-qualification probationary period, but it was still another two years before I felt really comfortable, and that was all down to getting the experience! And to be honest, you never really stop learning on the job!

Re. your shorter working week, might there be the opportunity to do four longer days? Or would that negate the benefit of the extra day off?

Longer days wouldn't work with Gitdog, I don't think. He has a lot to answer for.
The mission for the afternoon is to find the foreign currency card I have "put safe" as I need it in a couple of weeks and it's probably too late to get a replacement. I can remember putting it away, I just have no idea where. Is there a patron saint of lost cards?

    Right, nobody shut any doors!!
Hubby is running round taking the door handles off all the doors in our house.
I keep forgetting how big the bump is now and have numerous cuts and bruises on the bump from walking through doors and catching myself on the handles. They are the old latch style door handles.
Must remember not to get locked in anywhere now!
  • Good afternoon all!

Woooo! Well done, elsien. I wouldn't worry about feeling as if you aren't sure what you are doing, I spent most of my working life like that. I think particularly with careers that touch on the caring professions that there are no real hard and fast rules to learn other than common sense and your contract terms. The approach tends to (and should do) change with the individuals involved and flexibility is the key.

Katy, it's today right? escape imminent? Do I start preparing a drink for myself and a big bowl of celebratory chocolates? Do I? Do I? Do I?

    Not yet WaS!

I suspect it will be 5th September as they are closing our road that day meaning we will have an extra 15 minute journey, taking it to nearly an hours journey to the hospital rather than 45 mins.

St. Anthony of Padua is the patron saint of missing things.

Not got out before the rain, so I've repaired a bath mat (loose trim was a tripping hazard) and now contemplating another unfinished cross stitch project.

I thought I was being clever. It's a rather lovely vase of tulips picture given as a free gift with yet another cross stitch magazine. I found one which had two accidentally packed into the bag.

I stitched one, framed it (BOGOF from Boots) and gave it to someone leaving the department I was working in at the time.

I started the second one, but I got bored. So it's been sitting in an old chocolate box for over two years with just a few of the central stitches done.

It's time to get over the boredom and get on and do it....:o
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Ginger, I am so in awe of your cross stitching. I did some at school and liked it but I was so bad at it.

    Calley - hope you're okay.

Katy - I think once the head goes down and the bum goes up there isn't much time to go. This is based upon observing my large family obviously.

Had a nice day today. We went to a dog charity fund raising day with DA dog. There were so many dogs around you'd have been in heaven WaS. We saw some tiny dogs like chihuahuas and french bull dogs all the way to Irish wolfhound, sled dogs and St Bernards.

Last night I went to a show which was like a circus type thing with illusions and fire eating and acrobatics and it was really good.
