I have taken a big dose of courage and managed to speak to a manager at work about how unhappy I am.

He is going to try and help.

Small victory <3

yea HBS {squishy}

SDW - lol - then your husband is clearly cool! I think naming the house with a reference to aunt is lovely tribute.... you will have to plant something in the garden and name it after her too. Then you can chat to her while you tend to the plant.

yay HBS

Just had an email from the ombudsman

Dear MrsMoo

Complaint: XXXXXX - HA
Thanks for your emails of 7 & 11 August with attachments.

I have written to the landlord today to make enquiries, asking what the landlord intends to do next in order to put things right for you, and asking it to let me know the current status of the matter within its internal complaints procedure. I will then be able to advise both you and your landlord further.

Should you wish to contact us in the meantime, please do so quoting the reference number above.

It makes them saying no a bit harder Fly, they will need to justify it to a body that has the power to kick em in the bottom.

I am currently doing my snow white impression and singing a lot lol

Arrgh. Having a very bad luck day today. I am wrapping myself in bubble wrap and chaining everything I need to myself so I don't lose it.

Things I've lost today:
1. My phone. Disaster. My phone is my alarm clock, my Internet access, my travel planner, my weather forecast, my music player. Essentially, my entire life is on this bleeding gadget. So I had to find it. I rang it. The ringing came from my wardrobe and I had to pull everything out to try to find it. After half an hour and 11 calls to try to locate the damn thing, I found it in a box where I keep my toiletries/make up and where I'd gone to get a new blusher this morning. Really should have been the first place I looked. This made me late and my resultant stress and swearing upset DA dog so I had to calm him down.

2. My keys. After digging through my bag, I found them in a different pocket where I never keep them.

3. 2 of my false nails, which I have on to stop me biting my fingernails.

As I was leaving, I opened the freezer for DA dogs Kong and discovered it wasn't working so everything in there will have to be binned and I'm going to have to find money for a new one and I go on holiday in less than a month.

Sorry for the me me me post. Needed to get that off my chest. Will go back and catch up on the thread now.

Yay go Melly! Even if nothing comes of it it shows someone independent is taking you seriously.

Get ya cagoule on Flybaby!! I've just bagged up the logs I cut last week ready to go in the wood shed, not sure whether to move the wood in to there yet though due to the rat sightings. Ringing the council in a bit, just don't want them to poison them. I messaged you some pictures, not sure if they work though.

Oh dear Code! Those sorts of days usually result in a tantrum from me. Could you look on freecycle for a freezer? We got ours off there last year and it works brilliantly. I'd the freezer on now could it have just been a power cut?

I need to get Little Sod some new Kong's. He has chewed through his last black Extreme one and I will need to freeze a couple ready for when escapee arrives.

I attach a letter extending the complaint and if you can advise when you could be available I will do my utmost to accommodate you.

I am sorry my previous email referred to you as Miss, that was my mistake and nothing to do with records held on our system.

A colleague Birdy (who veto'd the other properties), Housing Options Officer, will be dealing with your enquiry regards a move and the supporting information from OT assessment and I understand she will be replying to you this week.

Code, depending on when it went off, you may not have to bin everything. The temperature should stay low for quite a while with the door closed.

Then, have you got cool bags you could put meat/fish into?

Then cook as much as you can.....it will make it keep for longer, and you can re-freeze stuff that's been cooked.

Can you ask friends/neighbours to store stuff in their freezers pro tem? Make a note of what you've given to whom, else you'll never remember!)

Failing all that, don't bin it, give it away! Friends etc, or even ring a homeless shelter and ask if they'd like it!

Or, if there's a lot of meat, have a giant BBQ and invite the street!
