    Thanks Whitewing

I've seen the midwife and she was really lovely. She apologised for how yesterday went, she was expecting me to see a consultant to discuss mental health support, not an antenatal doctor.
She confirmed that my scans etc were all fine and that baby was doing well, and also confirmed that baby hadn't moved (just wriggled down more) and so the doctor was actually listening to its feet rather than its heartbeat!
Midwife said she actually thinks I will be fine after birth, but is planning on coming to see me regularly initially before handing over to the health visitor who she is going to make sure is aware of the situation.
She has referred me to the specialist midwife and said that I can action an appointment at any time by just letting her know, which makes me feel better.
She said to keep the next hospital appointment in case we need it for anything else, but if nearer to the time everything is fine then I can cancel it.

    Feeling a lot better now!
  • Aw good Katy! So glad that you feel calmer about things. It's the escapee tunnelling with a little electric drill whilst wearing a tiny miners lamp on a helmet that is keeping her moving. I can't get that image out of my head now that you mentioned power tools last night!

    its horrid here!
and the M6 being closed in both directions means there is a major problem with the roads.
I had my second meeting at a company today (Site Manager, and HSE Director) and had to do a Risk Assessment
  • Eeeeeek! I hope you manage to get home ok, Melly and that the meeting went well. We do have rain here but I like rain so I don't mind.

I spy a mouse stealing the grass seed from our newly sown lawn. Cheeky little thing has been at it for ages now, running back and forth to its nest.

    .

    Ah! The rough book!
The school I was at was very strict. We were issued with a rough book, and exercise books for each subject. I wasn't supposed to draw on the rough book cover, but that was tolerated. Drawing inside the rough book was not tolerated, as that was wasting paper. Exercise books had to be pristine.
When either the rough book or the exercise book was full up, we had to queue at set times outside the stationery cupboard with the full book. The stationery prefect and/or the teacher in charge of stationery would examine each full book, and if there were lots if spaces, we would be sent away and told to fill up the spaces first. Exercise books cost money, you see.
    And quite right too.

I loved the smell of the stationery cupboard. :)

  • I love Manchester Melly! It was the first town I ever stayed in on my own. I was sent there at 17 when I was writing for a music newspaper to review bands over a weekend at the Hacienda nightclub. I really enjoyed my time there. I got meet Morrissey from The Smiths as his was one of the bands that I was reviewing, also Lemmy from Motorhead who is a really nice guy and very down to earth.

Aw, little mouse, Katy! When our cats used to bring them in I spent many an hour chasing them around the house attempting to rescue them. I caught a baby once and it was so small it looked like a toy.

I always wanted Lemmy to be my grandad, I thought he would make an awesome grandad!
Not sure how that would have worked though as I also wanted Richard and Judy to be my parents!
