maybe we should nip round each others houses in turn each night and cook with what ever we have in.
Everyone gets a free meal. As long as they do the washing up.

Hbs - my favourite is 'the communists are in the fun house'. One of the more charming ones here is 'on my jams'.
That article was funny!
 I'd forgotten about sanitary belts! What a pain they were!
I can remember my mother being suspicious about tampons! She didn't think unmarried girls should use them! Hahahaha! Don't know what pleasure she thought anyone would get from using them! She was also worried in case it meant a girl wouldn't be a virgin any more! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I don't think I was anyway! Hahahahah! (She didn't know that, though! Teehee!)
All I can say is, thank God for tampons! Talk about how much more freedom you had with them! Revolutionary!
Apparently, from that article, the Ancient Greeks and Romans made tampons. Once again, the so-called civilised West probably outlawed them for centuries as another type of control over women. It didn't used to be called the Curse for nothing, in those days!Georgiegirl256 wrote: »That sounds really tasty Pyxis! I'd prefer that to a takeaway....do you do deliveries?

I hate having periods.
I can't wait for the menopause and they stop. I know there are lots of other things that can happen hot flushes etc.
I know I am 43 years old and being having periods for nearly 40 years. but I have never got the hang of them. I know that sounds strange.
Its just a pain and mess and oh I just don't like.

I remember my first period. I was the youngest in my class by a year and possibly the last to start my period and I was desperate to get it. My mum hadn't ever had any pain so I got little sympathy there until she realised quite how bad it felt and even though it was the 90s, the towels were so massive and thick (like the nhs ones you get now). I used towels for years, then tampons and now a mooncup which is so much more convenient. I carry emergency tampons but hate the way they feel now.
The doritos and jelly babies are all I've eaten today and will probably just have dinner when DH gets in.
I've been bad. Yesterday I bought shrugs for my dress and today I bought a bag, shoes, m&s tights for heels (wore them to a wedding last year and they were all kinds of awesome) and then bought 3 bras and a pair of pants.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

They appeared too late for me!
Do they really work well?
Re. You're purchases! They're not bad! They're part of your outfit, and you've not bought a new dress, after all!
Also, better than buying binge food! You'll still have the outfit stuff! And you'll feel good in it! Whereas the binge stuff will only make you feel bad! :A(I just lurve spiders!)

Mooncups work really well for me, although it should be noted that I have a medium flow at worst. They take some getting used to but once you have the hang of it, it's fine and they feel cleaner somehow. I have worn mine through a burlesque class and a zumba class with no leaks.
I justify it as I got nude shoes and a bag, so will be able to use them for other events. And my bras are too big so I needed more. Those are my excuses and I'm sticking to them.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

I remember my 1st period went to my mum to say I had blood down there. bearing in mind I am farmers daughter she said to me had I cut myself climbing over any barbwire :rotfl:
Moon cups I tried once and that was that. Could not get the damn thing out and when I did managed to get it went all over my jeans and I was at work. Had to tie my fleece around my waist and leave early for lunch and came home and shower and change
Today I bought a new top and a dress that was cheap as it need a repair job. Only £5 instead of £10. Should take less than 10 mins to repair. Also got a couple of pill pods for my husband been telling for ages to get some so he can put all his pills in. As he stopped getting them packed up at the chemists as they wont put a couple of the pills in and one he gets from else where. 25p each down from £3 so bought him two.
Oh and some what I think is good news. Got a call to invite me for a interview next week for the job I applied for over the week end.

Calley - getting the cup in and out takes practice - my first attempt I thought I'd have to go to the nurse to get it out, but got the hang of it.
Great news about the interview!!Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

Not excuses, Code! All sounds valid enough to me! Bras too big? :T
You must have lost weight, then!
I had loads of lovely bras from M & S, made with silk, all different colours, then lost some weight, and the one place I didn't want to lose it from......you've guessed it! Have always been tiny up top, but the only times I've had any shape at all was when I was breast-feeding or massively overweight! And then only a 36a! :rotfl:
Anyway, so I had to go and buy more bras, and when I'm small, it's really hard, as I need a small cup size, but not a small round-the-back! I've spent a fortune on bras over the last two years!
I finally gave away the too big ones to a charity shop, last month. Some of them hadn't been worn much. If I find shoes or bras that really fit well, I buy loads, otherwise, when they wear out, I can't find any.
Still nice to be losing the weight.(I just lurve spiders!)
