  • I must have been one of those rare kids who absolutely loved vegetables! I'd eat them raw, cooked, and I especially love sprouts! Me and my Dad were sprout connoisseurs....everyone laughed when we'd complain about them at Christmas and my MIL's first question would be "how was the sprouts?!" :rotfl:

What we try and do now (although it's not really working and we don't always stick to it tbh) is to try and eat healthily during the week and then have a treat at the weekend....we're not exactly sticking to it though. :o

I've been down a couple of pounds, up a pound, down a pound , up three pounds , down two pounds, etc. etc. it's soul-destroying!

So, bargain time! You stay off the binge today, and I'll stay off the binge too! Deal?

I keep losing and gaining the same half a stone. I was talking to someone the other day and they said they had lost 10kg which is 22lbs and stone and half. This a big man so it tends to fall of them very quickly.

I will do you a deal. I will have two boiled eggs rolls for lunch. And steamed chicken and veg for tea.

Ok Pyxis, I feel better knowing it's not just me struggling with it today.

I am currently in the bedroom because I am lazy and I cannot snack if I do not go near the kitchen. Quite what happens when I run out of water, or when DA dog comes back from his walk covered in mud, I'm not sure. We do have masses of chocolate and sweets in the kitchen (DH does the shopping now and will come back with the most random things claiming it was on offer but somehow forget important stuff ) but I really want crisps dammit!! I know I can't be trusted with crisps. So no bad food, no excessive eating of any foods and hopefully I will be back at work where there is less temptation soon. And Pyxis, you're strong so no beer or cake.

Rather long winded way of saying we have a deal!

At some point I do need to go to the shop for hairdye though. My grey roots are ridiculous.

You clearly were not subjected to my mum's cooking. Everything boiled to a mush. Boak. She kept forcing sprouts and cabbage on me. I have IBS so they give me stomach cramps and wind and I hate them! It's only in recent years that I have started to embrace veggies but again, not the cruciferous ones.

My nieces though would rather have a bowl of sprouts than chips. I don't understand that.

My God! How hard it must be with that stuff in the house! Give it all away, pronto! And tell OH you'll kick him in the jewellery department if he brings more in! :D

Be careful when you go out...........I can go out to the Bank, and then it's the mindset of...." I'll just pop into Sainsbury's while I'm here" and then it's , "oh hell,!I don't care, I'll have a cinnamon whirl!"

So when you go out for the hairdye, keep saying, "must be strong, or Pyxis will get angry".....and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!

Depending on how I'm feeling, I would too. Although admittedly not very often, chips usually (nearly almost!) win!

I can imagine that it can be quite bad after eating them if you have IBS, it's bad enough sometimes without!

They say I think and it kinda works. To put the sweets etc behind a closed a door.

I have found that bought something that I was going to binge on. Choose not to and put it in the larder then come across a week or two later as I forgot about it LOL!!!

That would never work in our house! If we know things are there, they get hunted down!

Anyhow, better go and package up my eBay stuff. I've sold about £100 in the last week or so! :j

    Stop talking about cake!:p

There's a thread in the Arms all about bake-off, which I'm avoiding like the plague.

I can't watch any cookery programmes, even on a non-fast day. Don't want anything stimulating my appetite!
