I've experienced a milder version of it, and still do, some nights, and even a mild version of it is ghastly, so I can really commiserate with you if you get the full-blown version. Aaaaargh!
Luckily, it doesn't stop me sleeping. Other things do, though! :D

Do you find that alcohol makes it worse? That's one thing I've noticed.

It seems to have no affect on me. But RLS can be very personal, both in its triggers and in what relieves it.

I have to get exactly the right amount of exercise. Either too much (especially before bedtime) or too little gives me problems. I am having trouble today already because I did not get enough yesterday.

I find caffeine has more effect then alcohol and therefore try not to drink it after about 3 pm.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

    Yuck
Anxiety is through the roof, just want to hide away and sleep through the day but can't because of my damn legs!!
Hardly slept during the night and have been worrying myself silly.
Got midwife today and really think I need to ask for help but not sure if I will as hubby will be there and he doesn't know how bad it is getting.

    Grr grr grr!
    And breathe...

Oh I do feel for you. It is dreadful when all you want to do (and need to do) is sleep, but you can't even lie down comfortably because your legs make you go walkabout. This is the debilitating part of RLS - the chronic sleep deprivation.

I remember reading about a young woman who was meeting her prospective in-laws for the first time, and she fell asleep (after days and days of not being able even to relax) face down in her main course.

People laugh at that and it IS funny, on the surface, but those of us who know what this is like just feel so sorry for that young woman :(

Hmm not actually sure why I don't want him to know.
I think because a lot of my anxiety is around money, and as he will be the main earner I don't want him to think he isn't doing a good enough job etc.
Also he is excited and happy about the baby and I don't want to ruin it for him.

I have realised that my anger is linked to my anxiety. When I am having a bad time that seems to be when I am more likely to get angry and lash out.

    7dw, it really is awful!
I get it in my arms too which I don't even know if that is possible!
The only thing that really helps relieve it for me is to prop my legs up so high in bed that they start to go numb, but that then gives me a headache.

That last bit is the perfect reason to ask for help, Katy! The midwife can help you, and if hubby knows, he will understand. :A
Marriage is for sharing exactly these worries. Your hubby can probably allay your fears about him being the only earner. Remember you'll get child benefit, too.
    Pretty please?
