Another good idea from Pyxis! Buy a little accessory that will look great with the dress, code! I do think you need a reward for not binging for so long. That isn't easy to do, I know from past experience. It is so good that you are looking at your relationship with food and the reasons behind it, that is half the battle. I got nowhere with my ED until I started to look at what food meant to me and why it meant that.
Just to make you giggle, my ED is almost non-existent these days and it stopped for funny reasons. I was always yoyo dieting, so much so it eventually caused my thyroid to stop working properly and my metabolism to slow. So, first there was that which meant weight gain. Then my anti-psychotics also cause weight gain. Then I developed arthritis and now can't walk or stand for more than 10 minutes at a time, plus lower body exercise is all but impossible. Finally I was put on steroids for Addisons Disease which as everyone knows cause weight gain! I gave up on trying to diet at that point and thought I had better accept myself as I am and deal with the feelings that cause the binging because there is no way this weight is shifting now! It was a rather novel solution for it stabilising but it worked!
Thank you Pyxis and Birdie, I think I might try a 5am wander. Other than the two hospital appointments I haven't been outside since the first week of July and it probably isn't helping my mood. I have thrown open the window however so at least there is fresh air! I'm the same Pyxis, by the time I've finished cooking a meal I don't really feel like eating it!
Maybe that's the trick to losing weight, spend all night, every night cooking big elaborate meals that you never actually eat!
Code- I'm really proud of you for not going into the binge/purge cycle! :T You deserve at least a pair of new shoes to go with the dress for that!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

code - agree with all the other comments people have made. Will only add for you to look how far you have come - to be able to know it, recognise it, talk about it, ponder on it and take comments about it. Smashing!
As a suggestion for breaking the barrier which is so important for you - suggest a wee shock to the system - have a day or two of eating completely different foods to those you normally eat - shake it up completely and possible the same with exercise -do something completely new for a day - you could try youtubing for a mad zumba thingy or such so it is not costly.0 -
Pyx - how did you find that picture of me this morning?!?!? Really rough night, despite taking sleeping pills, so that was spot on for me this morning ( except not that cute!)
WaS - Have you ever tried going out "in disguise"? Wig, hat, sunglasses, boots, coat - creating a barrier between you and the world so they cannot see you? This is what a lot of people effectively do anyway - I have a friend who will not even let her husband see her without her slap on first and would not dream of opening her front door without being fully "tarted and smarted" as I call it. She is actually a lovely lady in her 50s, but she says she has to have "her armour". I felt truly honoured when she let me come see her when she was poorly without her face on (and bless her, she wanted me to help her with it - I can't even put mascara on!!!)0 -
Code,
Buy the dress. Just don't put it on until you are the correct weight. (Only saying this because you are so close. I don't agree with buying a smaller size as wistful thinking).
WaS,

I got an email from one of my AmDram organisers just now, enclosing the following link, because she said that so many people in the group lack confidence and a sense of their own self-worth about their performances and this article might help!
It's not aimed at anyone in particular....it was sheer coincidence that it's just arrived. Some people might not find anything new in it, but there are a couple of tips about how to change negative thoughts into positive thoughts.

Eeeeh Code- you should get these to go with your dress!
I must have those immediately!! If only the had them in my size
I have fallen desperately in love with another Lindy Bop dress and I want to buy it for the wedding I'm supposed to be going to...and they have it in my size. But...They recommend going a size up (and I'll need to for the sweater melons) and they don't have that size. Sob. I'm going to carefully monitor in the hope that they get it back in. It's this one!
