Ah. So I think I might go back to the nice indy that did my test and buy a pair IRL. The online places do say that you can measure your existing glasses to get measurements, but I don't think that applies to the pound shop ones I use occasionallyEx board guide. Jobbingmusician, please, get your glasses fitted properly. I spend ages in the opticians getting mine sorted, first the odd ears, then the funny bridge of my nose, then, worst of all, they are usually too close to my eyelashes so I can't wear mascara!! doh!! I tell them, I have to be able to wear mascara without my lashes touching the lenses.
How can that be done online!??
Honestly, the fitting takes longer than choosing the frames and the eye test!0 -

If you can afford it, I too think it is well worth buying your glasses from a 'proper shop' and getting them fitted properly. I think it is false economy to do otherwise. A friend of mine doesn't even get her proper prescription because she doesn't want to pay the price, she buys cheap reading glasses from Boots, can't see properly through them and so never wears them, false economy imho.

Good morning ladies. Not feeling very full of the joys today.
Penguin (about weight loss, weight gain and fat shaming)
So, have bounced on the scales today only to find I'm 1lb heavier. Probably just water retention or because I'm constipated but I'm so frustrated because I've been to young between this weight and 1lb lighter for weeks now with no movement. I'm currently 2lbs away from buying my new dress but I seem to have been 2lbs away forever.
Over the past few days there have been a lot if articles about obesity in the news and all the comments have been less than favourable. There has been so much fat shaming going on (we're the new scapegoat for why the country is in trouble) that I now feel really self-conscious about my body and like everyone I encounter on the train is thinking I'm gross and greedy and lazy.
Just a few days ago I caught myself in the mirror and was happy with how much thinner I looked. Now, I just feel gross.
Want to go back to bed now, especially as I have meetings all day. Words can't describe just how much I hate meetings.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Slothhhhhhhhhhh! I want a sloth cuddle!
Thank you so much everyone, you are all lovely and much better friends than I deserve. I am still feeling pretty useless to the world but am a bit more cheery than I was. I think I need to plan another outing somewhere for September, I was happier with my little once a month jaunts to see animals. Last month I couldn't due to psychosis and this month I can't as the car tax is due and also the servicing. WaSp is on a fuel allowance and not allowed to go over it or we will never afford both so we can't drive anywhere, plus we already had two trips out last week for my hospital appointments. It's at times like this that I could do with going for a walk in the park but I haven't reached the stage of being able to do that yet. I intend on getting there, though!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Code, go buy that dress now!
1lb, 2lbs........you're talking amounts that are meaningless. Please don't obsess with the odd pound. How do you feel? How do you look? They are the criteria!
Go buy that dress, and wear it and look fabulous! That'll get the adrenalin and endorphins flowing and will probably kickstart the weight loss again!
You said you felt you were looking good before you weighed yourself! Well, you're still that looking good person!
How often do you weigh yourself? It may be too often. Better to go by how tight/loose things feel on you.
Also, when you feel down, you move about less and slump more.
So go buy that dress and stun the world! :T
