Nothing to do with the fact my eyes bulge out like Mr Toad's then!:D:o0 -
Absolutely agree with Pyxis. Code, it definitely sounds like you could do with the little boost that a new dress would give you
WaS, I absolutely believe you can do a walk in the park someday soonfor now, could you open the window for fresh air and put a video like these on?

I was a naughty person and had a few drinkies on a school night. Feeling surprisingly perky today despite that! We won a round of the pub quiz too, yay!

I agree with Pyxis, code. Buy the dress! Two pounds really is nothing and when you see how great you look in it you will feel so much better!
I could go for a walk around the block actually, more of a 4am walk really. This flat is positioned between a high street, a road that leads to the M4 and a very busy pub that stays open until 2am. Hence there is a very small people free window! It's ironic really because I couldn't really live in a worse location for someone with my kind of problems.
In brighter news my psychiatrist was really proud of me for going on holiday and to see my teacher friend when I saw him last week! He also asked if I would consider an extra appointment in the autumn to meet some medical students. I have done this before and I don't mind providing there aren't swarms of them. He did say it would be a couple at a time. He said I am an anomaly because one wouldn't usually find someone with such complex mental health problems living so independently or so able to clearly describe how it feels to live with the conditions, he also said no matter how bad I feel to remember that I am very high functioning for what I am diagnosed with and coping extremely well. That was good to hear, he is so lovely.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Joan, I'm sure you don't look amy thing like Mr Toad. I'm picturing you with Disney Princess Eyes instead.
Pyxis and HBS - thank you for your kind and sensible words. I know you're right and that the number on the scale is irrelevant really. What's worrying me is that my reacation to it is pure ED thinking rather than a 'normal'. Instead of thinking 'Meh, it's just water retention and when I weigh myself next week it will be different', I go straight to 'You fat pig. You're worthless and I shall starve you as you don't deserve food. Everyone is laughing at how ugly you are' and so on. And from there, it's a quick jump to the binge/purge cycle. At least I can recognise it now and I haven't seriously binged in a long time. This thread has helped with that by making me think about the root causes and my screwed up relationship with food. (See Was - you helped!!).
I can't buy the dress though as it's a reward and buying it before the achievement would taint it a bit. Nonsense, I know, but I'm not quite there yet. I saw a photo of someone wearing it on their Facebook page and it is fabulous!!Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
WaS - have you been able to do any early morning walks? Rainy days are good as there are fewer people about.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

WaS, you're not useless at all, everyone on here loves to hear from you, no matter how much or little you have to say! Is there any chance of another early morning walk around the block some time soon? Bit of air and excitement might give you the same 'day out buzz'? Looking forward to hearing about September's trip!
Big hugs Code, I'm sure no-one looks at you and thinks any horrible things. People are usually so busy thinking about themselves they haven't got time to think cruel things about others! Anyway, the size that you are is hardly massive and 'disgusting'! Just a couple of days ago you were saying how good you felt and that you wanted to wear more dresses... try to get back into that mindset, and treat yourself to some new clothes! Have a virtual cookie... they're calorie free so you can eat as many as you like!

Ok.....Code..so what about buying an accessory to go with the dress? A chiffon scarf, perhaps?
Or necklace or pair of earrings that will only go with that dress?
As a little spur, and the fact that the goal is in sight?(I just lurve spiders!)

Some research has shown that smelling certain foods can help to curb cravings.
I've often found that I can start cooking a meal feeling absolutely ravenous, but by the time I've finished cooking, having licked a couple of spoons and smelled it all, I'm not as hungry as I was!
Also, in the past when my children were young, if I gave them yogurts but I just licked the lids of theirs, I didn't need a whole pot myself!(I just lurve spiders!)
