Thank you, your post has brought me out to say this:
I am a long-term lurker, I read the thread every day. I get a lot of help just reading, I suppose I don't dare start posting, I might let it all out and not know how to stop. It would hurt too much.
I just wanted you all to know that.
Thank you all.0 -
Hope you're OK RJ, whether you get back together or move on from this, I hope you're happy and your OH gets the help he needs.
Welcome newbies and lurkers!
Code- I like Yumi dresses as they're fun, flattering and purse friendly (especially when on sale!) - one, two, three, four, five. As for the chub rub, I pretty much always wear tights!
Were you guys all talking about corned beef hash last week? I've had a craving for it for ages since seeing a conversation (sure it was here!) so had to give in and make it last night! Was yummy, such good comfort food for a miserable rainy July (!!!!!!?!) day!
Gingernutty- hope you don't have scabies! For some reason my wrists are more sensitive than the rest of my body, so I could use a new lotion on my legs without a problem, but where it touched my wrists they might come up in a rash. Weird! Could it be something along those lines, anything new you've started using? Or could there be residue from a different cleaning product etc on your new desk?
Hope you're OK this morning WaS!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Just been catching up - lots happened while I wasn't looking!
Whitewing - definitely see if you can contact somewhere like Dogs Trust, or maybe see if Littlewing can visit a PAT dog? I could kick your relative's behind for telling her that story! And thank you for calling my little fuzzle beautiful, she's a total scruffball but I think she has such kind eyes
Code - regarding perception of yourself in clothes, my therapist said something that made me stop and think - it's a bit long-winded so if you'd like me to go into detail please PM me! And well done on the weight loss
RJ - I agree with the post that says it's telling that you aren't too upset. Lots of hugs. Do something nice for yourself today if you can!
Hugs, squishes and handshakes to Calley, SideFX, SDW and WaS
Gingernutty - am sure you can dunk your hands in something coloured to check for scabies. Then, however, you've got to get the ink or whatever off your hands...hmmm...maybe not such a good idea!
Joan...you know you can open up to us, right? *loves*

Whitewing - it's a pity about what your relative told littlswing. If you were closer she could meet DA Dog. He has such a lovely nature and is very calm and gentle around little ones (so long as they don't pull his tail - he hates that!). The wee boy next door is scared of dogs so we have DA dog sit and he gives him a treat and then runs away.
Hbs - your dog is beautiful. Mine does a similar thing - he has a spot in the garden where he rolls in the stone chips and then lies in that spot (no other spot will do). When he's not lying there, he'said hiding under the climber plant or sitting on the other plants to kill them.
Hugs for rj - sorry about your relationship. Sometimes you just can't help someone and have to walk away for your own mental health.
Gingernutty - yuck for the potential scabies. I hope it's not that.
Birdie, love those dresses! Thanks.
Was - hope you're okay.
Sfx - you're definitely not alone. We mostly have our issues on this thread and it's a safe space to share if you need to. Same goes to you Joan, when you feel ready to talk.
Hugs, handshakes, spoons etc to those I've missed.
Am in a lot of pain today and trying to decide whether to work from home (I always worry that my colleagues think I'm 'at it', or call in sick and spend the day feeling sorry for myself. Am currently postponing that decision by staying in bed and cuddling DA dog.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Hi Joan.
HBS - would love to hear the body perception comments?

Your weird feelings. How often do you get them? How long ago did they start?
Is there an element of fear that accompanies them?
How long does each episode last?
Have you tried logging them? There may be a pattern you haven't discovered yet.
Does anything relieve the feeling, or do you have to wait for it to subside on its own?
Even though you say it is emotional, don't discount the fact that many emotional changes have a biochemical origin
They seem to come in clusters, not had it for a couple of weeks now but sometimes could have 2 or 3 a day over a few days.
They started as long ago as I can remember.
It does feel a little bit like mild fear, but I am always safe when it happens e.g. sat in bed talking to hubby, out for a walk etc.
It lasts a couple of minutes and I have to wait for it to pass, talking about it while I can feel it doesn't change it.
I haven't tried logging them but will do. It almost feels like a memory.
Very odd!
This is why I struggled a lot with CBT, I find it difficult to label feelings and emotions. I also find it difficult to connect my thoughts to my feelings. Oh, and my therapist was a plonker!0 -

HBS - thanks hon!
Katy - cool, I am a fan of such things as 2Cellos and Rodrigo y Gabriella etc - I weirdly like classical and rock - so I love the crossover bands. If I had got my way, I would have walked down the aisle to 2Cellos version of highway to hell - I thought it was suitably ironic (considering the entire wedding day was my idea of hell) but my DH was not amused!0 -
Feeling a tad selfish - just had long conversation with ex -boss/friend. We have been trying to sort out me doing some work for him for the last few months and I have been ignoring his calls recently as I was annoyed at the delays etc. as it was stressing me out even more. He is having a really bad time at home ( which I knew about) and needed a friend to chat to. So selfish of me - thinking only about what I need and not what others might need. Plus I am sitting here thinking "Oh carp - I was banking on that work, what am I going to do now?" - even more selfish.........bad bad me.0
