WaS thank you for being so honest.
I find it all very interesting and I feel that you are an amazing person to be as strong as you are with all the issues that you have.
As I said before I could not cope as you do. You have a lot to cope with and that is why you need to be kind to your self. You have so much to deal with.
Hope you had a good nights sleep.
Yours

Elsien, I'm not ignoring your question about capacity v MHA either - I am thinking about it and saving it for a debate at work. I suppose I would rather be thought of as mentally ill than lacking capacity, however, if it came down to the basics. AND (getting fired up now!) despite common prejudice, people get better from all levels of MI - I think that there is probably an even bigger hurdle to overcome persuading the powers that be that you have regained capacity in all areas of your life!Ex board guide. I was undecided - hence the desire for more debate. On the one hand, the MHA has more coercive powers ref medication etc, but if you're compliant so that's not as issue then at least under the MHA you get second opinions and the chance of regular(ish) review at tribunals. Whereas the MCA gets you nothing except a potentially very long wait at the court of protection. It was a throwaway comment by a solicitor who started it, by saying give him the MHA every time. Which I've been pondering ever since!
I suppose the bottom line is, either way your life is being restricted and controlled, so which mechanism offers more protection of your rights? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Removed some sections as a bit too much info.
The friend is used to people being scared of him so likes to stay with us cos neither of us are.
Hes off medication again at the moment (pesky voices) but im still not scared he knows that if they are saying to hurt me or OH to ignore them.
He doesnt tend to verbally argue with them its all internal. I tend to have verbal discussions especially when im filing.
Its a lot better than it was and I actually make sense now most of the time.0 -
Thank you for sharing, though, melly. Some of the things you were talking about
were used as treatments for psychosis for a while (WaS reminded me!) I think it's sad that more research wasn't done - we could have a cure for some sorts of schizophrenia by now, maybe!

thanks JM WaS and I had a private discussion about it and it was one of the things it was developed for not found anything as good for facilitating filing.
I do genuinely imagine a large filing cabinet, take all the jumbled thoughts and sit and follow them through then file them under topic, need to do it every few months or my brain doesnt work and I start making no sense it conversations (only because people cant see my thought process, so they dont know I am relating X to Y and W and Q and P lol)0 -
That sounds like you have amazing powers of visual imagery and concentration, Melly. I can't even manage the putting work in a box thing. I know WaS has said it comes with practice but I can't imagine being able to do what you do.
Is it a technique you had to learn or something that evolved naturally for you?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

It evolved Elsien, my work has always been very logical and process driven so I thought carrying that through to my thoughts would help it does but I havent mastered filing them straight away.0

Melly that's an awesome technique!
I would like some yogurt in the duvet fort please - I have laryngitis. I promise not to spill any!
