Anyone want my "make carrots as moreish as chocolate" recipe?0 -
Right - sitting here dreading 10am - DH has arranged for MIL to call me. Apparently MIL wants to talk to me to apologise for being critical as she is feeling so bad about it. I am not really ready for the conversation but she is a lovely lady with a heart of gold and I don't want to be the cause of her feeling even more upset that unusual and I appreciate the my DH is in a real sticky situation with his mum constantly saying she feels bad and me not wanting to tackle the issue. Big deep breath.
"Hug and squish" - love it! :rotfl:
Hang on! You sayin' I'm squishy? Grrrr!
(I am a bit, though! :rotfl:)Anyone want my "make carrots as moreish as chocolate" recipe?(I just lurve spiders!)

I'm in a clique! It's a clique of one! It's a unique clique!
I love :eek:0 -
Hmm spoke to ACAS about my situation at work and they think I can claim pay back that I have lost through having to reduce my hours. I would have to get legal advice though.
Is it worth the stress and possibly money involved, or do I just grin and bear it for three weeks until I finish work and then find another job?
Hate to think I am losing out just because I am not 100% sure what I should have fought for, but also not sure I can handle the stress and bad feeling it would cause0 -

Phew........worked myself into a state with the MIL phonecall and it turned out really well......(thanks Pyx - you were right!)....I wrote myself a big list of the things that are issues and wrote what I wanted to say - then added another column and re-wrote what I wanted to convey in a much less aggressive/angry way....and I wrote myself a big note that said LISTEN - so that I actually heard her rather than selfishly controlled the conversation to get my point across.
Pyx - nope you are not squishy - but I like to "squish" instead of hug! I am a squisher!
lol - I don't like chocolate either (or cakes or ice cream or sweets) but I love bread/cheese. You'd think I don't like "sweet" things, but it's not that coz I would sell my soul for candy floss...one year my in laws were on the candy floss machine at the village fete....it was heaven.0 -
I once let Little Sod try candy floss...
Funniest thing I have ever seen!0 -
Katy - what was the reason given for you not being allowed to take the holiday you are owed? Sorry I meant to ask that earlier.0
-
Why not go to speak to someone at the CAB Katy? Your first 6 weeks of SMP is calculated on your current pay, so if you've had to drop hours and pay, then your SMP will be altered too, which is unfair since it's due to your employer giving you little option but to cut back.
Hope the call with MIL was relatively painless Flybaby! ETA: Cross posted! glad it was OK!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
'thanks birdie
Katy - I was thinking the same thing as birdie - the SMP will be calculated on the average working hours - is he deliberately not letting you take holiday so that you have to reduce your hours and thus the SMP will be less - or is there a genuine lack of staff at the moment due to holidays/sickness?0 -
I can't take the holiday because we are very short staffed.
Two people have left in the past fortnight due to the way we are treated!
Another lad is leaving soon to go to uni.
One bloke has only just come back to work (against medical advice) after having had a stroke. He can't afford to be off sick any longer.
One of the weekend staff was sacked last week too.
We are dropping like flies! There is only really three of us now to work full time, and the other two are having to pick up the bits I cannot do and so they are exhausted.0
