Sdw - I know exactly what you mean about the medication. I have begged my doctors for help and they've all said the same thing: they can't help beyond trying others medications and they all have the same side effects.

I have lost about 1.5 stone since mid-April but am getting frustrated. I am losing about 1lb a week for the past 3 or 4 weeks and intellectually, I know that's good and I'm making progress but part of me wants to see more progress, much faster.

I haven't, it sounds yummy though! I'm allergic to kiwi fruits, but I reckon it'd be ok in a cider?

I'll have to look out for it. As I'm into all the different flavoured ciders at the moment.
  • Sorry it has been a busy few days. Have my blood tests tomorrow. Dreading it as me and needles only have a good relationship if they aren't in me.

7DW I can kinda understand what you are going through. I have a generalized food disorder due to trauma when I was younger. Basically food was associated with pain.So while I was the opposite I can understand how it can rule your life in a way. It is still something I fight daily, and I will never eat meat, but a dietitian and a psychologist helped. It won't be an easy fix and sometimes you may break down but tbh for me it's been worth it, if only for how excited my mum was when I first tried pizza a little under a year ago lol.

Hey guys, hope everyone is having a good day.

Im in complete agony, codeine isnt helping at all. I feel crap. Needing to have a couple of restful days I think. Im thinking of changing up my codeine - 30mg of the cocodamol and 2x15mg of a codeine and ibuprofen tablet. Gives me the max 60mg of codeine, but gives me something more useful than paracetamol with it!

  • I miss the day I could take ibuprofen dragonette. It used to really help with the swelling but I am asthmatic so can't take it now

There are a number of research articles that say that, while NSAIDs should always be treated with caution in asthmatics, only about 10% of asthmatics seem to have an adverse reaction. They state that if you are asthmatic and have taken NSAIDs without an adverse effect, then it is ok to continue to do so, always bearing in mind that the triggers for asthma can change over time, so NSAIDs should always be taken with caution by asthmatics.
    Here is one such article.
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11665870

So it may be worth discussing this with your new GP?

I am asthmatic, and I try not to take NSAIDs as I am concerned for my stomach and the risk of ulcers caused by NSAIDs, but I have never had an adverse reaction when I have taken them.

    Edit. So far! :D
