Spoke to 111 following dizzy spell.
Appointment should be this week so they didn't think it worth bringing forward and as you know I'm worried about it so perfectly happy with that.
The agenda from the HA is the pantsest agenda ever may as well say 'talk about some stuff' but I'm doing the call from shelter so got protection that way.

I tend to water mine most nights, but that's only because the MIL does hers every night, and I thought you were meant to or they'd die! They've been ok so far....touch wood! :rotfl: I'm pretty clueless when it comes to gardening!
I am far from an expert LOL!!!
But on here says to water in the morning!!! And it also says
"The best rule of thumb is to water as deeply and as infrequently as possible. Watering to make sure the soil is moist to at least 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) deep is best because it helps the plant grow its roots deeper into the soil."

I know it's not comfortable for everyone, but I love this weather
. I complain furiously when it's below freezing in winter though!
Have you got aircon? Mind you, if you're stationary, it'd run the car battery down.
The aircon pump is usually driven from the auxillliary belt (used to be called the "fan belt" in the days before electric radiator fans), which is turned by the engine. No engine, no aircon, so if you turn the engine on to get aircon the battery won't run down but the fuel tank will!
The electric fan is still needed to blow the air into the cabin through the vents, but that doesn't pump the refrigerant around, so with the engine off you just get the normal temperature air blown at you, at least on every car I've owned with aircon.
Amongst the things I'm nerdy about are car engines.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Hulk is back!
Vile mood as I physically cannot cope at work in this heat and others are having to do extra to cover me which isn't fair on them.
Asked the boss if I could take holiday up until my maternity leave as I am owed an awful lot, but as he hasn't pulled his finger out and got cover sorted for me yet hecwont let me.
Oh wants to go and 'have a word' tomorrow as he is worried for mine and bumps health, and also his own if my mood continues!0 -

Well, I finally got here. At about 7.15. So a journey which should have taken around 90 mins took just under 6 hoursCan anyone recommend any resources or support systems for someone living with hearing voices and wanting to get back some control? I've heard of the hearing voices network, is there anything else?
The hearing voices network is great. I'm gonna do a small lecture for people who don't know about hearing voices.
The HVN grew out of a (ummm Dutch I think) TV programme where a psychiatrist appeared with his patient - Romme and Escher - and they talked about the experience of hearing voices and invited other people to participate. The switchboard was flooded, and they found
- there were loads of people who heard voices
- there were loads of people who heard voices and managed them well, and had never been diagnosed with any form of mental illness
- there were loads of good strategies out there for managing the voices. For example, one strategy I've heard of is to ask the voices to go away and tell them that you will pay attention to them at a set time every evening, then allocate a fixed hour to listening to the voices.
So I had a look on Amazon for books by R & E, but I'm afraid they are horribly expensive!
One book which I found very interesting and which is quite tangentially helpful is Musicophilia, by Oliver Sachs. It has a whole chapter on auditory hallucinations, and I find it quite helpful professionally because it normalises the experience and relates earworms (which I and lots of other musicians suffer from quite a lot) to other auditory experience. I think this book is pretty cheap, but you could probably also get it at the library quite easily.I hope, my waterbutt is empty and I am on a water meter. So will have to bite the bullet if its still like this tomorrow and water my pots.
I only water them every 3-4 days in the hot weather anyway. And I give them a good soaking so that it starts to drip out the bottom. I think that is a better way to go then a little bit every day. As other wise they get shallow roots.
Not been in the mood but its way to hot to have been working in the garden for me.
Just looked at the weather and heavy rain tomorrow mid morning!!!!

Pots, ideally, should be watered daily in dry weather, until it runs out of the bottom, but a lot depends on the size of the pot, whether there are moisture-retaining granules in the compost, and what plants are in the pot.
I've been disgustingly bad about doing mine lately, as I've not been well, so haven't been out there.
I understand that very early morning, or evening is the best time, as during the day, a lot of the water evaporates off.(I just lurve spiders!)

Code than you for your reply, it has helped a lot
I talked to Swain and basically he told me at this stage, there's no use in worrying because i can't do anything or change anything, and that we'd cross that bridge if and when we come to it, (so in 4 weeks, though i'm taking codes advice and doing one sooner too) and for now try not to let it upset me and that everything will be ok
So i'm feeling a bit better. Spoke to my GP who;s given me 3 months supply, and put it on repeat and has given me another appointment in a month but stressed if i dont feel better in the next week or two i must come back and see her sooner. She asked me if i wanted to take some time off work, but hinestly i'd rather try and go back cos me being at home overthinking things won;t help me, plus i think once i've got my meds back in my system i usually even out pretty quickly. I mentioned about tryint to lose weight and she said we can go through it all and my options at my next appointment. So all in all it went ok.
Now i just have work to deal with tomorrow. Hopefully if i explain everything they will be understanding. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Oh MessedUp that all sounds very good!
I'm glad your GP is so good.
I'm sure work will understand. Make sure you also tell them that your GP offered you the option of more time off sick, but that you said you'd rather come to work.
