How do you cope with being lonely.

I don't mind being on my own. But like tonight I feel lonely. And unsettled.

I have loads I should/could be doing. But don't want to do anything.

    just feel a bit meh!!!!

WaS - soooo glad you are feeling a bit better. You are just fab at coping, actually - it must be so hard :( But it's really great that hopefully you are through the worst of it now. Lots of hugs from everyone here ((((((()))))))

I think you could market your little kung foo fighters. Wouldn't it be nice to have a tiny soft cotton set, that you could throw at your problems!!!!! :)

When I feel like that I tend to either head outside for a change of scenery, or go for a spot of self-indulgence. Sod the things you "should" be doing, what's going to make you feel better?
And it's ok to feel sad or meh sometimes. Any particular reason, or just one of those things?

I know but its not the same as having someone to talk to face to face or curl up to.

Thats what I miss about not being a relationship. Someone to talk to about there day and mine.

    Awww, loving our thread pets!

I used to get very lonely, Calley. It is a horrid feeling isn't it? An emptiness that you can't fill. I found online communities helped save me, even if it was joining in with chat about a boring tv show. Also, I have a memory box where I keep things that people have given me over the years. Holding the things that reminded me of people helped quite a lot. Other than that I distracted with tv, books, anything I could. Of course, me being me there was always a cuddly toy next to me to cuddle, too! Now I don't get lonely at all what with only being able to be left alone for 4 hours at a time. In fact, sometimes when I get those 4 hours I thoroughly enjoy the perfect solitude!

As commendable as it is that the Damp Proofers with the brick drills start work at 8am on the dot can they stop please? I only fell asleep at 6am due to passing out with anti-psychotics for hours the day before yesterday. My sleep pattern is ruined and I am with my teacher friend in 5 days!

It is always very difficult when my sleep pattern goes out of sync because tiredness is a huge psychosis trigger for me. If I stay awake even a few hours after I start yawning odd thoughts start. Likewise if I am tired in the mornings things are very strange all day. The ideal solution would be to now stay awake until 10pm tonight and then sleep as normal but I have no idea if I can risk it with the psychotic episode only occurring 2 days ago. This is problematic and I need to be able to sleep from 10pm until 7am by Monday night and that's actual sleep, not staring at the clock every half an hour and counting how many minutes of potential sleeping time I have left in an increasing panic! (Please tell me I not the only one who does that every time they have to be awake early in the morning).

Oh, and now it's here TOTM is awful and my doctor failed to complete my codeine prescription again within our agreed time-frame so I am in withdrawal once more. Argh!

No, you're most definitely not the only one! I'm like that sometimes, especially when I'm going somewhere/have an event on the next day. It's like you know you need to get some sleep, but you just can't, and the more you think about it the worse it is. You see each hour tick by, then you eventually drop off (sometimes) with only an hour or so to go. I lie there worrying about how tired I'm going to be the next day.

Only 5 days until you go away again!! :j

You are not the only one. The more important or earlier it is that I need to get up in the morning, the more difficult it is for me to sleep, and it's never easy on a normal day, even if I don't need to get up at all the next day. I worry about the alarm failing, so even resort to using both the clock-radio and my mobile phone as alarms for redundancy :o .

I still don't know if it's coincidence or placebo, but the Sleepy Cow pillow spray I've been using appears to be giving me a better quality of sleep than I had before.
