Glad to see you are ok lilt
Sorry to hear you had a quiet day Bob
Today was a SFD and I have marked my socks off (only finished at 10.30) Hoping to get most of it done by next Monday although think some of the deadlines are already being extended as I'm not the only one who is behind this year.
Hope you are all keeping cool in this weather, think I might swap the winter duvet for a summer one tomorrowLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi guys, good evening! Or is it good morning? Just got in from another busy day at work. It is also another sauna day at work, with the air conditioning barely coping with the heat outside and inside.
Got in to work today to find that we have almost zero staffing. It is below "skeletal" level! My boss asked me if I fancied giving up my day off tomorrow for a bit of overtime as they have nobody to do the 12-8pm. After doing 2 late finishes I have been looking forward to a nice sunny day off but as the department is desperate I did agree to come in between 10am and 4pm tomorrow. It is a real bummer to give up your day off but the extra pay would go nicely towards the cc payment.
We were supposed to have a family meal tomorrow with my extended family - 2 brothers and their families as a late celebration of DS2's birthday but the overtime has messed up the plan somewhat. Fortunately my dear SIL said she could host the meal in their house and I will cook the food, with her help. at least I wouldn't have to panick about hiding all the clutter in the spare room after coming from work to bring the house up to entertaining standards, and cooking attend same time.
It wasn't a SFD today as I had to go out and buy some ingredients for the ice cream for tomorrow's meal. Going out again tomorrow for the ingredients of the main dish.
Calling I also listed a few items on eBay last week, 3 ended last night. 2 were sold, 1 was relisted. One is paid and posted, one is awaiting payment. The rest of the lot will end on Saturday evening. I wish I could put some more items up for auction but I have been so busy lately I haven't had time. Note to self - make time!!!
Welcome back from your hols wishus and welshkitty. I hope you both enjoyed your holidays. Hang in there lilt and fmess. Bob it is really hard to prise people away from the outdoors when the weather is good, unless you are an ice cream shop selling homemade ice cream with lots of different flavours, there's an idea! Hi All
I am quite psyched right now.
1) OH had an unexpected £200 extra in his paycheque today. This wont be repeated but is due to a change in his benefits package. This is epic as it covers all but 3 days of our summer childcare (July anyway)
2) The party booking I have for Saturday just went large on their catering requirements. Including hot drinks I believe I will be billing around £300 so all together we will be able to get around the dreaded extra childcare bill.
Trade is mega slow today again. But now I have Saturday and OHs money to count on i feel so much happier.
Am doing a market research telephone interview today at 5pm which is paying me £30 so that is going straight towards my target! I will then have put £70 extra to debt repayment in this pay period. It's slow going but good going.

Hi all. Bob, that doesn't sound like too slow going to me, it sounds great. £70 is still quite a lot of money
wishus, how was the holiday?
Yesterday was spendy - OH was quite depressed in autumn and bought Gladys Knight tickets, which he promptly forgot about until last week, when they came in the post! So, nice trip out last night - place we decided to eat at does 2for1 drinks and half price food on Mondays, so got a meal and a cocktail for £16 - not bad at all. Had £50 made from selling stuff, so still got a bit of that left, and someone bought one of my books last night as well, so that's another £30 in the pot.
Have sloped off work early today - partly to enjoy the sun, but only through the window because my hayfever is playing up awfully this week. I'll make the hours up tomorrowhope everyone else has this lovely weather too!

Evening everyone!
Is really nice to hear from everyone... Well done on getting in that overtime TheOnlyGirl... it is a real drag, but when you get your wages that shift will be a distant memory. Make hay whilst the sun shines and all that, right?
Keep up the good work lilt... You are inspiring me to get myself fit again. It has kind of taken a back seat - although have been going for walks I guess. Take some time out and drop in and say hi next month.
Didn't check in yesterday, but was SFD number 19...
Today = SFD number 20! Hoorah!
Looking forward to July. Am going to sit down and work out my budgets tonight. Have a good one folks.

A couple of good things to report. Went online yesterday to make another small balance transfer to the 0% card from the one that will be going up to 18.9% at the end of July. I made a payment over the weekend and was hoping that if that had cleared, I could transfer another £200. The payment hadn't gone through but decided to make a transfer equal to the earlier payment I made which had cleared. Well the computer said there was £495 available for Balance Transfer. Normally I deduct 5% of the card limit (only allowed 95% as balance transfers) but I tried it and it let me do the lot. Thought they might phone up today but it seems to have gone through.
I had £4.50 in my current account so paid £3.93 off a card to round it down to an even £20.
Today DS3 went out early to see a friend so I have moved round the furniture in the front room - moved a bed, a couch (boys hadn't put the legs on after the move so had to turn it on it's back, then get it back up again), a fire with a mantlepiece/surround, a large sideboard and finally the bed again plus chairs and small bits out of the way. Also swept and mopped each part of the floor as it was exposed. Have just had my second (but much needed) bath of the day.
Only thing I am doing is putting the bins out later.
Today I am grateful for getting stronger every day, for escapist fiction and puzzle books (had to have lots of rests in between moving items) and for having a plan.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Read my words, hear my voice,
Understand in life... There is a choice.
A choice to grow in life to succeed.
Or a choice to burn, just swallow and bleed.
The power is yours. It's about never giving in.
Fighting for life. You need to win.
Winning is not the be all. Yet it is if you need to survive.
And it is if you are feeling... you are no longer alive.
What is it that makes us strong. Then stronger each day?
It is the beauty of life no matter how grey along the way.
Open up and share, Let everyone in,
This is the way, ...the way for us all to win.
Win the Battle of the change of living as the world each day is to grow,
The pure amazement of now..... Now and tomorrow.
So grow and listen to eachothers voices.
Understand the need to accept eachothers choices.
