Gosh had no idea that asthma could be set off by steam how sad for you all. The presentation to your church sounds really good. I would have been impressed to have heard a couple I knew passing on their hard won knowledge. Much more relevant than reading hard does and don't online. Hope your shift wasn't too bad after all that.

Hi Bob, just finished my shift and putting my feet up. It was a very busy shift and very HOT, it seemed like the aircon couldn't cope with the heat outside, it felt like a sauna in my workplace. I could imagine my brain turning into mush (doesn't take much to do that to be honest - somebody slap my hand for this self-deprecating jokes again).

Yes OH's asthma is quite easily set off by any seafoods, even just the mere smell or steam. Imagine what it would be like if he accidentally ate one - could be fatal. I remember this one time when we went to the fish quay. We just literally drove past a crab shop and he felt breathless we had to go home immediately.

I think it was a brave thing to do to come out in the open with our past financial failures and how we are coming up from the pits. It was started by my hubby preaching about it 3 weeks ago. He said he felt impressed to talk about it. What we didn't expect was the reaction from the members saying it was heartwarming to hear from somebody who has done it and got the t shirt. Some requested for more and hence yesterday's event. There's one other couple and 2 single guys who have been on board with us and we have been reading the same books about getting rid of debts and sorting ourselves out financially. Like you, I would have liked to have heard from somebody who has had the same experience and to have been inspired by them. I didn't have that luxury. Also, I didn't know about the MSE FORUMS and especially the DFW forums before March this year. My oh and I were just saying, we wished we have known about this before we went on DMP. WE probably would have worked extra hard to snowball our debts without going to DMP. BUT, we can't change the past, it was what it was and what is important is to remember "from where we have fallen" and to rise from there. That is what we are doing now. I am just glad to be part of this community of DFW's. As they say:

    Hiya Turtles

Tried to get on and post yesterday but MSE seemed to be having a wobbly and then my internet was playing up.

Apple and Bob last battle of the challenge, who gets July? chuckles

Lilt hang in there, I know you will turn it around really quickly and bounce back, x

I've had a terrible weekend. Glad I have today off too.

I have no clue how many SFD's I've had. I think I am probably around 20 but I actually haven't been keeping track this month. Shocking I know for the challenge host.

Last two days to go. Polish that armour and hold your heads high. We are doing this!

Apologies, read a bit yesterday but couldn't post.

Just laughing at my own stupidity. I use a spreadsheet for the months challenge was feeling chuffed with myself today SFD 18/20 thinking I am going to make it then I realized there is not 31 days in June. oops

Yesterday I went and bought butter and eggs, few ice pop things couldn't hang fire till 1st not as strong as abundant, didn't want to use cc and wasn't sure on my bank balance so dipped into my xmas pot.

Lilt - sorry to hear things are not good with you. Come back as soon as you can just to let us know your alright.

Bob - hope it's not too much running the challenge this month for you if you are busy at work, I am happy to help out with any challenge.

Well yesterday I tugged at my freezer drawers and discovered there was quite a lot of food in there. One drawer has been so badly frozen up impossible to open, anyway found 2 packs mince, 2 portions of homemade veggie lasagne, rhubarb, spinach so no need to go shopping for at least another week or so. Will rustle up a rhubarb/ strawberry crumble later. Happy bunny.

The Only Girl - what a nightmare. Hope everyone is feeling better now and the birthday boy managed to enjoy his special day.

Shyspender - hope the week improves for you.

Going to book a few days off work this week and enjoy life, heatwave and escape work. This morning had holiday tales since I walked in. yawn Would love to escape somewhere, so decided will have a few days out locally explore places I haven't been to for ages.

Have a good Monday folks x

    Hey All
I am happy to run July and have started a placeholder for it which I will add more to ASAP.

Hope everyone is alright. After a killer week last week takings wise today is somewhat disappointing. I am a bit scared that this week's hot weather will really set me back. This is why I struggle so much. One good week does not a summer make or something :)

I do have the first of the party bookings this Saturday which is extra money but I'd sort of ear marked that for paying for summer child care which at £30 a day is not cheap. I'm trying not to panic as I can carry 1 bad day but I've literally had no one in for about 2 hours now and no lunch means no money....

On a positive note I just paid £5.01 off my smaller CC which takes my overpayments to £40 for the month so far. Aiming to hit £150 by end of July (my pay period started last week)

    Good luck today everyone

    Bob

Thanks Calling. It is hard. I do appreciate people just dont want to be indoors when its this glorious. I wouldnt be myself if I wasnt a pesky shopkeeper :)

Hey ho, lets make the most of life anyway. We had a lovely walk through the park on our cycle home. Although rather disgustingly my son managed to not only tread in dog poo but get it on his leg as well. Good job Im over the vomiting stage where every smell gets to you!

Have just put a load more detail onto the July challenge. I hope Im up to this :)

32b3in2013[/B][/COLOR] - i rememeber you from Kat's time here I think - welcome back... what's been happening in your life - how's the finances?

Thanks everyone for everything. It makes such a difference being back on here. x

    Hiya

Thank you for the welcome back :D

I was following Kat's blog but I don't think she has updated it for ages, unless I am just not seeing the updates.

My finances are OK. I got a loan to buy a newer car and I am currently overpaying it with eBay sales. It was a 48 month loan and I got it a year ago and I currently have 19 months left to pay so I have overpaid 17 months worth so far :D

I see you are doing really well with your finances. Well done

Today I am grateful for a fresh start every month, for lovely chats with colleagues, for the paddling pool, for my sunglasses, for the satisfaction of a good old clearout.

    Hi guys

Sorry I disappeared again. Thank you all for the love and best wishes. Nothing is ongoing in my world that cannot be conquered with a raised chin and some backbone. I'm working on exercising to look like The Rock :rotfl: - well.. improving my core anyway. Because I don't have one. The more I exercise the more I can do, the more I want to do, the better I get. I got a Tens machine from the hospital today. I had it on my back for a while but then decided to see what it did to my stomach :rotfl: not a lot. I think I may need to burn some more fat off before I can try to use the slender tone effect :)

Anyway the exercise really helps to lift my spirits, so Fmess, even on your worst days, take those lovely dogs and get yourself out for a breather. Yesterday I was rescued from near craziness by a babysitter and managed an 8km hour long walk along the coastal park and the seafront and then stomping through the local streets in a comedic grid. Curtain twitchers may start to recognise me on some of the grander streets. I may end up with a police escort. But it picked my mood up. I then did some strength training and finally some pilates to relax before an epsom salts bath. My mood picks up with these things, and dips very low without them.

Thank you for stepping up x2 to do my month. I am not even going to join in in July but will hopefully be back fighting fit before the end of it. This month has been dismal. Amazing how much your mood can affect your finances. Kind of like insulin, need to keep it level to avoid splurges! xxx

    Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Have been feeling low since returning from holiday (mixture of post-hol blues and work). Am trying to shake it off and get things back on track. The awful attack last week happened in the area where we have just come back from and it has really put things into perspective.

I've lost track of my SFDs this month but don't think it has been too bad. I underspent on the holiday budget, have gone slightly over on groceries, and am under on my fuel budget. So, overall it balances out.

Am going to try and catch up on what you have all been up to now.
