Tried to have a NSD yesteray but got despatched to get a hayfever spray for OH who is suffering badly this year. Also got him some raw honey in H&B as the pollen and unpasteurised nature of that is supposed to help suffers too (thank goodness it was buy one get one half price!) I did chuckle to myself yesterday having some one toast (just to try) eating super posh honey, on value bread. :rotfl:

    Good day everyone! :hello:

Here's a nice little snack to keep you going until our big 'end of the month' celebratory lunch. :D

    Courtesy of Mrs Doyle,of course.

Igor won't give me too many details about lunch, apart from the interesting fact that he is preparing toad in the hole.

    Mmmm,can't wait.

    Hey scotmum! :hello:
Did you have a good holiday? :)
Just one nsd to nab in order to reach target, good, good, good. :money:

Hubert...you don't know the half of it.As if photobombing wasn't bad enough,he then had too much trifle and ice cream and had a little, erm, how shall we say...accident.The resultant pong caused Her Majesty to faint. :(
Hubert has now been issued with a restraining order and the NSD gang 'en masse' have been banned from Royal Ascot indefinitely.
    'sigh'
    You couldn't make it up,could you? :(

Is it local honey.I've read that it needs to be local to help with hayfever symptoms....

PS You feature in next month's 'in a row' challenge. ;)

    Hello everyone!

Three days to go before the end of the month! Not sure if I am looking forward to July due to tighter finance situation. We've written the budget now and if we could stick to it or go under target I would be over the moon and it would feel like a massive achievement. On second thoughts yes I am looking forward to July and the challenge it will bring with it.

Yesterday was NSD 19. Hubby and I gave a lecture/presentation about budgeting in church yesterday and it felt successful. If we could touch somebody's life and get them to sort out their finances, it would be amazing. Had a good response from the audience so here's wishing. We were invited to a friend's house afterwards, for a potluck meal. We made several dishes using up stocks from cupboard so it was a very frugal dinner party. Didn't get home til almost midnight.

Today was SPEND DAY though. It's DS2's birthday today and we had lunch at a Japanese buffet restaurant (lunchtime buffet for £11.90 per head). Total bill came up to £67.50 which in our present situation feels very steep. A few years ago we wouldn't have minded paying twice as much, but now that we are watching every penny, it feels painful to pay that much for a meal out. And.... Sad to say we had to leave early as DH started to have an asthma attack due to the steam coming from the prawns in the dimsum steamer close to where we sat, DS1 followed suit, but not as bad as DH, and the birthday boy wouldn't want to be left out so he too had a very mild wheeze. We nearly got charged for uneaten food (so called wasteful charge) but after explaining the medical emergency, they waived it off. Whew... We are home now and the three asthmatics are feeling much better. Sadly I have to abandon them coz I have to go to work till 11pm.

Got to go now and wishing you all a very sunny Sunday and a very productive NSD.

Do you have any particular Womble in mind?
Well I doubt I will be spending any more this month in fact MOVING may be tricky as I took a tumble last night and I have bruises where bruises didn't ought to get

    Ah,just lost a post...

My choice of Womble 'stratches head'....The most decrepit looking one,or the one with the best knees?

I know that you're a kind, good hearted soul Knit Witch, but when Igor was sobbing into his chest wig telling you that no one would taste his spanking new stoat stout, did you really have to try seven cans?
    next time,stick to Ribena,please!
PS I hope you're feeling better today. :)

    cw18 don't think I've heard of 'Manimals'....
A lot of the US ones I've heard of without having seen. :o
Is CSI seems to be very popular. It's not too gory is it?
I must admit that I do have quite a few boxed sets that remain unwatched so far...I don't really have anything on the go right now,as I've recorded so much off the telly lately.

I used to love Tales of the Unexpected too kerri. It did seem very grown up.

Nargle I do hope that £260 odd of shopping will last a while....
If you do run out, don't forget Igor's leftovers. They're maturing nicely in Hubert's emergency spanx drawer.
