    NSD 6 today.

It should be easy to avoid spending this week as I'm skint till payday (Monday). Will do my best to get to 10 NSDs! :)

What better incentive not to spend? :money:
Yes, but it could be worse....he could be suggesting having The Good Ole Boys providing the music....

Too late...Igor has already invited them....
    Just a bit hahaha.

Only teasing. We all do it! ;)

Yes nargle, I am enjoying my MSE journey so far. It is so nice to see some money left over in the bank and in the envelopes at the end of the month. Much better than being overdrawn 5 days after getting paid. There is indeed life after debt. I know I am not quite debt-free yet but I can almost see the end and that makes all the long hard slog all worth it. I just wish I have discovered MSE well before March this year.

The best part of it is my kids and hubby love it too, especially the surprise meals I come up with using up stocks in fridge and cupboard. Doesn't feel like deprivation at all. Far from it.

I'm glad for you and your family.
Money might make the world go round, but it's not the most important thing.
I only discovered the forum when I was just reaching the end of sorting my debts out.My debt journey did feel lonely, because I din't share it with others. The MSE forum is a great friend to have, and I'm so glad I found it.
Good morning NSD gang! Day off today, no plans for shopping (no cash to do any, and meals are planned between now and payday anyway) so the Narglehounds are revving up for a NSD hunting expedition. Report later!

Right, from 8 pm tonight my hands will be poised over the keys, awaiting your update. ;)

  • Good morning all! It's almost summer-like (at last!) here in my side of town. I feel like going to the garden and finishing off what hubby and I started yesterday. Unfortunately I am waiting for our church pastor to visit me this morning. Hopefully it will just be a short visit so we could make a big dent in our to do list today. Not expecting any spend today, the family has been brainwashed about it, wallets, debit cards and cash envelopes are locked in..... (hahaha sounds very syndicated doesn't it?) Will be going to town later to pick up pre-ordered mini greenhouse and some purple spouting broccoli seedlings somebody from Freecycle has offered. Will officially declare NSD later this evening.

  • Hello all! Good evening. Is it really cold or are we just wimps? Our feet, hands and ears are all cold but we are resisting every urge to turn the central heating on. It's the end of June for goodness sakes. We have been blessed the previous 2 summers with lots and lots of glorious sunshine, I think we may have forgotten what the typical English summer feels.

I am happy to say we managed to keep the purse shut and made it up to NSD no. 17, my third 3 in a row. :j. We dodged the spends twice today. It was a bit sunny this morning and hubby thought it would be a good time to have both cars car washed and valeted coz both cars are filthy and it's been so long since they've had a car wash. Just as he was leaving, Mr. Sun had a change of mind and swapped with rain instead. So all the gardening plans went out of the window as well as the car wash and valetting. But to my amazement, hubby decided to do the car wash himself instead despite the rain. When I asked why he's washing the car in the rain, he said It's the perfect opportunity to wash the car. The rain will do all the rinsing and it's free and we're keeping the NSD. Bless him. The rain did the job too!

While hubby was washing the car I noticed 3 miserable overripe bananas which I decided could be just what we need to make peanut butter and banana cupcakes! DS2 offered to mash the bananas and help me bake but unfortunately I discovered DS1 has used all the eggs for omelet this morning! So I sent DS1 to my sister in law's house to ask for a couple of eggs. Sadly they've also ran out of eggs and they're keeping their NSD too. The dilemma was - a) to buy eggs to save the bananas from being thrown out? Or b) bin the bananas and keep the NSD. Votes were taken and the unanimous decision was to keep the NSD! What have we been turning into? Have we become sad, miserable people, taking these NSD a bit too far (some of our friends think so, but we don't care. They are not responsible for our bank accounts, are they?)

Congratulations to all who kept their NSD's too. :T. Keep up the good work,
