OK, you seem to be more interested in pointing out my errors than accepting that you were foolish to deal with them.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Not pointing out any errors, just informing you of information you didn't know.

When you informed me, I thanked you.

Now you've gone all high and mighty.

The joys of forums and people taking stuff the wrong way :)

    Thanks.

    2. Selling online
As well as the general rules for distance selling, there are some extra rules for selling online.

    You must:

list the steps involved in a customer placing an order
acknowledge receipt of any orders electronically as soon as possible
take reasonable steps to allow customers to correct any errors in their order
let customers know what languages are available to them
make sure customers can store and reproduce your terms and conditions, ie these can be downloaded and printed off
    give your email address
give your VAT number (if your business is registered for VAT)
give clear prices and delivery costs for your products

    Above taken from Government website.

They don't display email address or VAT.

Why would they respond to a real letter? They have already fobbed me off over the phone and not replied to any message left on their LIVE support system.

They seem to be based in Northern Ireland. Are the rules you quoted valid for there, ie the whole of the UK, or just for England/Britain ? I only ask as I know that there are differences in some regulations between England and Scotland, and have absolutely no idea if NI follow the English system...

Hi, glad to see you got a refund, how did you go about getting a refund with your bank? I'm in a similar situation, waited 2 weeks now for a refund from Nigel O'Hara

    Thanks

Quite simply, give your bank a ring and ask for a chargeback because the promised refund has failed to materialise.

Might be an idea to read MSE's Chargeback article first.

Cheers for that, I did contact the bank last weekend and they asked if I could get hold of a minimum of 4 answers on a reply:
    1. The message has to have the word 'refund' in it
    2. The amount that is being refunded
    3. The last 3 digits of the card it is being refunded to
    4. The date of the refund
I got a reply with numbers 1 and 2 included in their response, other answers were unobtainable due to security reasons.
Would my transaction be classed as fraud?
  • We ordered several items from this company on a Sunday evening.
We instantly received a confirmation email and SMS.
The next day we received email confirmation of dispatch with Royal Mail tracking number and the items all arrived on Tuesday. They were well packed and we are very pleased.

Clearly many people would appear not to have had the experience we had but for us they were faultless.
All the items we bought were showing as actually being in stock. I don't know if this makes a difference.
I should also add that the items we bought were substantially cheaper than we could source elsewhere too. The very good price coupled with a lot of online reviews did raise our eyebrows a little but we had no trouble at all.
