A couple of years ago I brought some branded jewellery from them at a significant discount. Genuine item and packaging arrived almost by return.

I placed an order for an item something over 7 weeks ago. they advised it was not in stock but I was prepared to wait a reasonable length of time. they have offered option to cancel. I have now cancelled the order as the revised ETA is too long to wait.Tthey seem to be taking time to confirm refund but card issuer will be advised if problems experienced.

Thought it only fair that given this thread is quite prominent in a google search for Nigel O Hara that I leave a comment.

Ordered a Mondaine Stop2Go for £243 (£200 cheaper than Amazon). The website is a bit clunky, particularly the option to choose Amex and then not allow you to enter the 4 digit confirmation code.

However, I ordered on the 25 July, and I've received the watch on Friday August 7. It wasn't a stock item, so to be honest, I'm delighted with the price and turnaround.

I think a lot of the negative comments are from people expecting a service from the likes of Amazon, from what I can ascertain NOH are a department store in Belfast that presumably have a small team that deal with online orders.

Just an update: a woman from customer services phoned. She apologised and said the item was being drop-shipped which meant it was being sent directly from the manufacturer, she said it was expected to come in the next week and she was chasing it up for me. She just seemed really nice, authentic and polite and I'm feeling a lot more confident and optimistic about the order now!

I'll wait until next week and let you know if it ever comes in!
Thanks again for everyone's replies :j

They don't deliver. They stall and stall and stall and then you get fed up and get your money back. Maybe they make money on the Intrest of having people's money, Im not sure how the scam works

I too am having problems with Nigel O'Hara.

I ordered a camera knowing that there would be a slight delay in shipment as the camera was to be bought in. Three weeks later when nothing received I contacted their support team who advised to wait a while longer, then on further chasing was told that they were unable to source the item.

However the camera is still being offered on their website albeit at a higher price.

I have sent several support requests to them asking them to telephone me to discuss my order all of which have been ignored.

Very poor customer service - avoid!

Update: Nigel O'Hara have refunded my original payment. No contact, no telephone call to discuss anything. Glad I got my money back.

The problems with them continue, I foolishly place an order for a £550 printer with my debit card ( I know should have been credit card).

This was 4 days ago, money went out my bank 2 days ago. I haven't received ANY communication from them at all. Not 1 single email.

Can't ring them direct as you get through to the store which have no access to the orders. Can't cancel over the phone either, so only choice is their LIVE support system which all I've found consists of a form to fill in and they say they'll email you back.

I've sent 4 messages via that system, sent a message via Twitter and Facebook and as yet still not received ANY communication from them.

I thought that not displaying a phone number nowadays for online trading was illegal.

Not VAT number displayed either which is illegal.

Not supplying a phone number is not illegal.

Give them a couple of weeks and if the goods still haven't turned up consider a chargeback.

Have a read of MSE's Chargeback article while you are waiting. ;)

Of course if those four messages you have already sent were about cancelling the order, then you tactic should again be to wait for fourteen days for the refund before requesting a chargeback from your bank.

Thanks for that, didn't know about the phone number.

They don't display an email address, which is illegal, or will their crappy support form suffice as providing email contact.

Either way very very poor customer service.

I don't think supplying an email address is compulsory either.

They do have a proper address at the bottom of every page on their website, and that is probably the only contact information they have to supply. Write real letter if you wish.

These are really the sort of things you should have considered before deciding to do business with them.

    2. Selling online
As well as the general rules for distance selling, there are some extra rules for selling online.

    You must:

list the steps involved in a customer placing an order
acknowledge receipt of any orders electronically as soon as possible
take reasonable steps to allow customers to correct any errors in their order
let customers know what languages are available to them
make sure customers can store and reproduce your terms and conditions, ie these can be downloaded and printed off
    give your email address
give your VAT number (if your business is registered for VAT)
give clear prices and delivery costs for your products

    Above taken from Government website.

They don't display email address or VAT.

Why would they respond to a real letter? They have already fobbed me off over the phone and not replied to any message left on their LIVE support system.
