Dear Customer,
Due to unforeseen circumstances the JRN Retail Group, trading as Nigel O’Hara, will not be able to fulfil your order or provide you directly with a refund.
Please do not panic, as you will be able to obtain a full refund via the method of payment used to complete your purchase on our website.
Simply contact the bank or credit card used for your purchase, then ask them to initiate a chargeback for the transaction.
This process will see the money returned to you in full.
We wish to sincerely apologise for the obvious inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer any further customer support or refund solutions.0 -
My experience of Nigel O'Hara. I ordered an item on 2nd October. On 16th I received an email from Nigel O Hara stating as it had been 2 weeks since I place the order and it hadn't been fulfilled did I want to cancel. Gish what great customer service I thought! Little did I know. On 20th October I decided to cancel to which they responded that of course i could cancel but the item was on its way from the supplier, due shortly and they would turn it round immediately. Stupidly I stated I would wait. By the 30th October nothing had arrived and no communication so I cancelled. They advised they would process my refund within 14 days. By this time I had seen this forum and wished I had never placed my order. I chased for my refund during the 14 days a couple of times. On the 10th day I chased again and heard nothing. I logged onto my account and had a message in red stating

I was gobsmacked - they took my money, didn't provide the goods and failed to return my money.
Fortunately, Barclaycard were brilliant - I phoned them to initiate the chargeback process. They refunded my card immediately and will be taking the issue up with the merchant. I have captured all the eveidence of the contact I have had in case Barclaycard need it.

I'm not sure if this thread is still active?
These are fraudsters. The business has now ceased trading.
If you google the address you will see this has never been a 'Department Store'. It is an old family Jewellers who got 'clever' about how to make a fortune.

I ordered a teddy bear from this company at the end of October - just logged on and got this message:

Have they gone out of business? Surely it's their responsibility to give me a refund if they are still in business?!
The info I have is that they have NOT gone out of business, this seems to be a clever way of shaking off a lot of customers.0 -
The story has moved on with Richard O'Hara now facing 10 charges (see the new article in today's online Portadown Times). These charges relate to 2013/4
My particular gripe, as well as my own stupidity in purchasing a TV that was £300 cheaper than anywhere else (why not £30?), is the role of consumer review websites such as Trustpilot in providing powerful PR for such rogue companies.
Nigel O'Hara were able to easily manipulate scores, by reporting nearly all 1* reviews on the understanding that few will bother to challenge to get reinstated, and seemingly flooding the site with fake/solicited 5* reviews.
Also, it's been apparent that the O'Haras' business may have been struggling for months, selling £1,000+ goods they'd never provide and holding on to the money as long as possible, as a source of credit. But comments along these lines were banned from Trustpilot due to being "accusatory", which may have enabled the business to trade a few extra months.0
